Im taking proscar for about 21 days just by myself... im going to start my hrt with an endocrinologist, but I will need to wait for about 20 more days, until my new medical insurance allows me to do appointments with one endocrinologist..

So.. in the begining i didnt felt anything diferent (maybe iv lost a little of sex drive like 30%)..

For about 5 days ago iv noticed that my breasts got a little bigger and I can see it has a "fold" at the junction of my breast with my arm (armpit) ... Iv Never Had It..

I need to be honest.. im like it :D

I saw some cases on the internet that proscar make the testosterone levels drop and change into estrogen, estrogen levels got bigger.. can be it?

unfortunatly my facial hair r groing as fast as before.. i wish it stops :(

Who is your endo and did you have to meet a psychiatrist before?

HRT will not affect facial hair growth once it has started growing and doesn't affect the speed at all.

I took both finasteride and dutasteride (at different times) before I was on a normal T blocker and also after the blocker but before E.    I did get some tenderness pre blocker and pre E, but 20 days is not enough time to matter really..

It can give you lil buds but hardly will give you bigger growth. If I recall, gynecomastia is one of the side effects of Finasteride.

I explain because I think my explanation was a bit confused.
I had scheduled for the same week a consultation with a psychiatrist and a consultation with an endocrinologist, but without knowing I had no health plan more than one month, when I was told I did another health plan, but for medical appointments I was told I must wait 30 days. Now in about 20 days I can schedule appointments. It seems that in Brazil do not need a letter from the psychiatrist to meet me to an endocrinologist and he prescribe me HRT.
In fact I'll get the recipes, buy the medicines and move on from my country because mtf are not very well accepted here and often ridiculed, beaten and even murdered. I'm thinking of moving to Argentina because I am very bad financially, the cost of living there is cheap, I'm just researching before to see how the acceptance of mtf..

Who is your endo?

I read that proscar may cause the body to begin to turn testosterone into estrogen in some cases, and i am cheering that this is because every day I pass I become more masculine (my body) and it makes me very sad.

My other fear is that my family is very kind of "serious" and will never accept me .. I know that they will not :(

I think you'll be selling yourself short if you are picking a gender for your endo.

One of my endos was male...I think I turned out pretty much ok

Yes, like Bird said, one of finasteride side effects is gynecomastia; however, you will have to take massive doses to notice a change in 20 days. I am afraid massive doses of finasteride would be destroying your liver and kidneys as fast as growing your breasts.

The problem r that here in Brazil guys r too much bigot.. So I think that with a girl probably will accept to be my endo on the first try.. 

Proscar is finasteride.

Finasteride is for hair loss and for prostate management. It does not do anything for breasts (for the exception of puffy nipples)

You should consult a doctor before taking this anymore. I think you are taking it for the wrong reasons and Proscar will kill your liver faster than a bottle of whiskey if you're taking it for the wrong reasons.

If you gotten breast developments 5 days from Proscar, it is probably from a severe reaction to the drug....Proscar doesn't grow breasts in that way...and it certainly doesn't do it in 5 days. You should call a doctor.

Finasteride

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. No COMMON side effects have been reported with Finasteride. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Finasteride:


Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); breast enlargement, lumps, pain, or tenderness; depression; nipple discharge; testicular pain.

no offense..but I do not take much stock in random percentages. If you think men are bad then that's your thing.

At least take our advice and stop taking Proscar just for breast development because the drug isn't designed for that. You can hurt yourself. See out a doctor for proper medicine.

Hi iwillbe,

First of all about the facial hair. Your choice; laser, electrolysis or (dare I say) epilator. For my money electro achieves the better results for me.

As for my opinion?

Annah has stated in several posts what is the best course of action for you. My advice, re read what she has said and do it for your own sake. Transitioning with a defunct kidney and liver is no fun at all.
