Title: NIPPLES
Post by: A on March 26, 2012, 07:46:03 PM
Okay, so, today, my breasts decided they were going to start existing. No, no, I don't have any visible growth. Not even on the subject's "NIPPLES", except maybe something that might be my imagination.

But anyway, since this morning, I've been having this quasi-constant TICKLING OF DEATH on my nipples. It doesn't even look like it's really friction. Alone, naked, they still do... Even though I'll admit contact makes it worse. I swear, I was taking notes in class today, and I could barely hold back my giggling. It's really like someone teasing me with a feather under my feet, but on my nipples. At times, I feel like I want to scratch them, but most of the time, it's more like: "Stop tickling me; I'll die!"

Seriously, I have a smile on my face, but in my head, I'm not laughing, really. What should I do?

It's not enjoyable, I swear. It even hurts at times.

I know what you mean, it sucks so bad. Unless you're willing to wear a training bra or something, idk what a solution is. It took about 6-7 months for me to finally stop having that. It's nothing short of torture.

I mean.. the looks alone as I'm squirming for no apparent reason...

Icecubes will numb them for temporary relief.

Hi A,

I have a friend started transition to female about 2 years ago and shortly after she had hrt she said her nipples were sensitive and itched so much she had to rub them. It is a phase of the journey. I don't recall her mentioning a remedy. I guess she just grins & bears it. lol

Be cool.

Being on HRT for 6 months, I've only noticed my nipples being somewhat more sensitive than before, though  itching or extreme sensitivity was never felt. My breasts are actually growing, mind you (they're ... very noticeable by now, like a B cup), just never felt anything else than *some* sensitivity under the nipple.

They will stay very sensitive for some time to come. You may find a hard lump forming under the nipple and growing quite quickly to the size of a golf or squash ball - it took about a week or so for me, it was fast - and then they are quite sore to touch. You spend your life trying to avoid things you can bump into.

Is there something I can do to minimise the unpleasant feeling? Like something I can wear, for example... But preferably something that doesn't show, and isn't too embarrassing to buy. :x

Try wearing finer fabrics or a bigger shirt so that it presses less heavily. You will simply have to get used to it in the short term, otherwise try softer fabrics like a satin camisole but that will probably show through your clothes.

At some point you will need female underclothes or fabrics, but I am a bit worried by the phrase "preferably something that doesn't show, and isn't too embarrassing to buy". I am not trying to be rude or upsetting but at some point you are going to have to buy and wear female clothing. In the initial stages when you are neither one gender nor the other there is a lot of scope for embarrassing incidents and you will simply have to get used to that too.

Did you manage to start hormones without any RLE?

Buy a really tight tank top.

Of course. I wouldn't ever try going out as fully female before a long while on hormones. RLE is, of course, needed for SRS, but I'd even say that it's HRT that's required for RLE, not the contrary. In my case, at least.

I think I was lucky enough (relatively speaking, huh, nothing compared to some here) with my body to manage not to have to go through such an embarrassing phase. Well, I already wear androgynous-ish female clothes, but only jeans, running shoes, etc. Nothing too flashy. One immigrant girl in my class even "she"d me, since, I guess, girls in my country VS hers are less feminine-looking in average, and she thought I was an extreme case, I guess. I don't really speak in a male voice at all, after all. Didn't have the courage (or will) to speak up. Others did find this weird, though, apparently.

But anyway, I just don't have the courage to go out with distinctly feminine things before I do the social transition. And I don't wanna do it gradually. Gradually doing stuff is just like removing a bandage slowly: the longer it gets, the more painful it is, and the more difficult the courage to do it is to muster. That's just my opinion, but anyway: I've decided to do it all abruptly. At some time, when I think I can safely pass, I'll appoint a meeting with the teachers and explain the situation, and the following Monday, I'll be a girl. Well, I'm gonna have to explain things to people, but since that's just too hard to do, maybe I'll just ask a teacher to relay a mass email for me, and then answer questions after they've read it.

Anyway, technicalities aside, that's how I think it will be the easiest to do. Actually, transition-wise, the easiest would be changing schools, but since I'm having organisational/self-responsibility/concentration problems, moving out to a big city far away would be much more difficult, in the end.

Isn't putting something tight on something that is growing inherently a bad idea? o.o

I would not argue with that. It is just that many places require some RLE even before hormones and I think that is crazy myself.

I doubt you will have a choice. In 6 months those boobs are going to be hard to hide. In 12 months they may be impossible to hide and...

... yes I would say so. I cannot stand having anything really tight on mine for any length of time. At present they are just under a A-cup and still growing so I can get away without a bra for now, but any dresses/blouses I wear need to be light so as not to press down.

Well, I think it may be possible to choose that "pretty hard to hide" stage to do the transition. Like, if it fits, this autumn when we start classes again. Or the same next winter.

If you cant wear something tight to press them down, and youre too nervous about being seen buying / wearing a bra, idk any other solution to keep your nipples from rubbing your shirt other than to tape some tissue to them.

Too big to hide stage... yeah.. i was in the bathroom with a coworker and not thinking... i pushed them up in the mirror and he said something along the lines of "i did not need to see that".

I got this urge for body lotion on my nipples when it was itching. It helped a little at least. Not a solution to the problem though.
The little breast development I had disappeared because of pausing hrt for grs and now it all will start again I guess after I get to raise my hormone dose...

A, have you thought about just shopping on Amazon? I've been looking for seamless sports bras on there for when the time comes. You may be able to get away with one a loose fitting shirt. It may just look like an undershirt if it shows through.

Bev, "A" is in Canada.  I'm not sure what their protocols are there, but in the US many transpersons start HRT before any Real Life Experience.  For MtFs, it seems to me more humane that way.

Ehm... I'm sort of clueless. What might a seamless sports bra be? (And what will it do?)

Uhm, and don't such items require, kind of, breasts? o.o

Do not worry, they will be along shortly (that is what all the sensitivity and itching is about)
