Title: This must be what it's like to be a celebrity

I find this more amusing than anything.
I just got home via a ride on the bus and while on said bus I was just sitting there minding my own business (Not that it likely needs clarification but, I was presenting as a woman). Well, I noticed this woman futzing with her iPhone and didn't think much of it at first. After a moment I looked back and saw she had the camera feature on and was angling the camera at me. I know this because I COULD SEE THE SCREEN because she was using the front facing camera on the device and I was sitting two rows back from her and on the other side of the bus. So, I put a "knowing" look on my face.
I imagine celebrities have the same problem when they're just trying to go about their lives. But I suppose, when someone encounters one of us, who just drip awesomeness no matter how we're presenting in the moment, how could you not want a memento? ;D

Hon, you took the words out of my mouth...
In all fairness, whether they find you whacked-out, ugly, most interesting or what not - it can get just too much after some time.
When that limit is reached... I head for home. Feeling at best like Britney Spears' grandmother... or something a bit less flattering.
The price we have to pay for "fame" :-)
Axélle

It is best to pay no attention to it. I no longer care - let them debate away. Actually I have noticed that if you disregard their glances they doubt themselves, you can almost see the thoughts runninng through their mind... "I'm sure that's a man, but... she does not seem bothered... no she just must be blokish woman.... musn't stare... I wonder...." etc.
A total lack of worry and disregard for their concerns always causes confusion.

Well, you couldn't tell her to take a photo, it would last longer, she was already doing that. lol. Guess you made an impression on her.

I've had my picture taken so many times that when I see the cameras I just strike the pose, what else are you going to do?
Some of it is just being in one of the most photographed places in the world, sometimes its for being on stage, sometimes its because I stand out, or whatever.

Yeah, I've reached my limit a few times since coming out. Makes me think it would be nice if my physical history wasn't so obvious. On the other hand, knowing that I don't blend in is kinda liberating too.
The kicker for me in this case was how bad a job my photographer was doing in hiding what it was she was up to. If she would have gotten off at my stop I totally would have stricken a pose. Maybe even offered my autograph!
I also want to say I do very much agree though with:
I make it a point to carry myself with confidence and a smile when I'm out. I think doing so generates a positive feedback loop within me too cause I don't find myself having to try very hard. Realizing that affirms my Gender Identity and leaves me feeling pretty dog gone good at the moment.
