Susan's Place Transgender Resources

This is a good support site. Even with all the server problems and Cloudflare issues I like this forum, but recently the increases in petty, argumentative b*t*hiness has been getting to me and, quite frankly, I have had enough. No matter what thread I subscribe to it always seems that someone in it wants to bicker, squabble or bitch at someone else over something daft - the classic is 'not trans enough' or 'not trans at all'.

So I have decided to move on from here. There are a lot of likeable people here, a lot of good people who help and mean well and I will miss them, but such is life.... :(

There are a few people I want just to say something extra to, but if you are not on this list you have not been forgotten. There are just too many of you for me to deal with.

- DonnaTroy, keep up the confidence building exercises and never worry what others think.

- Keaira, I hope your wife comes round and helps you rather than hindering.

- Devlyn, you have the patience of a saint. Keep it up.

- Bird, I hope that everything works out as you wish and that your family adapts

- The 'Aussie mafia' - you are the best! All of you. *hugs*

- Felix, you deserve a lot better in life and I hope that it all comes good for you.

It's not the first time I was having your sort of moments. There is this argument, that hanging out too much, or if you wish hanging ANY about at places like Susan's, it keeps us away from making some proper 3D experiences. 3D with real people not just the 2D web images of them.

Places like these here help, sure enough, yet how much help is a good thing?!

There is a tendency of us building our "own" sand-castles in the sand-box (Susan's) and if the sand box gets "invaded" by the wrong crowd we don't feel like playing any more - and we leave.
Like: "I'm not playing with you anymore, you ugly, and your mother dresses you funny!"  >:-)

         I wish you would reconsider and return soon. Perhaps just a short respite will give you some time to recoup. I know it can be an emotional drain dealing with other's and their take on things because we all may internalize things a bit differently. There is a huge hormonally driven emotional battle going on within each individual due to the tremendous impact of physical and mental changes. Some occasionally act as if they are the center of the universe and that the rest are just inconsequential little pieces of their existence that orbit around them for their own self aggrandizement, it's just a maturity level thing, sort of a phase and they'll wear us out but eventually they all out grow it. There are always trolls who stealthily slip in to the forum and are intent on wrecking someone's self esteem, we can always opt out of conversations with those kinds for our own sanity and deny them in their little game. I hope you come back Beverley, you are extended family here and it hurts us all when one of us is hurting!  (((((HUGS)))))

I'm so sorry it has come to this.  I know how hard it is to deal with each day as it comes, let alone coming here and being confronted by such behaviour. Regrettably, it's a fact of life .... anywhere, as anyone.

But I appreciate, you have to do what you have to do. These are your core values; and they must be adhered to, regardless.

The biggest irony of all is that such... heatedness, and the same old re-hashed arguments, seem to be of a cyclical nature around here, almost a biorhythm. In the four years on and off that I've been here, I've seen the same thing happen maybe four or five times. Periods of time where the atmosphere is much as you describe; different people each time yet the same views expressed in the same ways... and it always ends up with folks leaving.

Take some time off, but maybe come back sometime if you want to. Things will inevitably settle down again, and you'll always be welcome. :)

Thank you for all the kind comments and for those of you who have stormed my email box, here I am again.  I will keep the account here at Susans open because I do miss you all, but I am going to reduce my activity here. I have altered my profile options to stay within just the MTF area.

I find myself very emotionally conflicted at present and I do not know why. Maybe it is another phase in the transition? I am all mixed up and no use to anyone at the moment and I need to sort myself out in my own way. I am sorry I ran out on you all.

         Hormones mess with your mind honey, think of it like having two heads on the same body. The old being is constantly arguing with the new one, there are those that will deny it, but it's true regardless. Then there's information coming from outside sources here to add to the mix, mostly friendly and a few overtly hostile. You will mellow out and be able to discern the difference between the two. I was booted off of Susan's several years ago because I got my drawers in a knot over some comments that didn't sit well with me and I overreacted and got into a bitch fight. It's a learning experience we all have to go through just like kids going through second puberty rites. Nothing to be embarrassed about, it's not your fault!
