I'm really skinny and have been on hormones about six months. You'd think I'd have a great base, and a great time to start at (19), but I just look like a skinny dude with manboobs.
Whenever I see a nude girl, their body looks way better then mine. Heck, even ts girls on porn sites look more like a girl then I do.
So how long until I make the transition to a feminine body?

Woman tend to have a higher body fat percentage compared to men.
If you still have a male body fat percentage, perhaps this is what is preventing you from looking as female as you like.
I mean, are you looking to have curves?
Also, everyone effects hormones differently and works at different rates. If the first thing I said is unhelpful, then the best thing to do is keep waiting. The changes will come eventually.

There is no pat answer, could be another six months, could be a year or longer or you may not get as curvy as you would like ever without some surgery and implants. Gaining some weight would likely be beneficial, but it should be healthy, toned weight, not just stuffing fast food into your face, lol.
I would have hoped you would have had a better idea of what to expect before you went on hrt to be honest.
I know I researched everything to death, by the time I started, I really had no questions or surprises.

Gaining weight will definitely help.
It's a wonderful course of action... but I realize that it may be a difficult feat to accomplish. I'm having similar problems, and it's becuse weight is just really difficult for me to gain.
Now, that won't always be the case, but for now it is.

Hormones don't do everything for you. :)
