Title: iPod touch vs iPad vs Android tablets
Post by: Constance on April 19, 2012, 01:44:45 PM
So, my MP3 player died and I was thinking of getting an iPod touch. With that device, I can listen to music and also get transit info on it, which is handy since I don't have a car.

But, the screen is small and I'm not a fan of its on-screen keyboard. I was considering an iPad for the transit thing, but it's a bit unwieldly for a music player.

And, there's Android tablets, too. I could still get music and transit info on such a device, and some are smaller than an iPad.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I would say get an iPad and get a carrying case for it.

The reason why I'm not considering an iPhone or an Android phone is that I don't want to have get a data plan. The iPod touch, some iPads, and Android tablets have Wi-Fi, so I wouldn't need a data plan. I'm happy with the simple cell phone I currently have.

Used iPhone that isn't activated?  Just use it like a MP3 player?  Never done it myself but I know people who did.

True, that is an option.
