Title: Top surgery + some experience with surgeons in Thailand

Got my top surgery yesterday - couldn't be happier! Since Mongolian surgeons have no experience in FTM chest surgeries, I had to go out of Mongolia, and here I am, in Thailand. If anyone is looking at the PAI for his top surgery, forget about them, for your own sake. I was initially in touch with them, and arranged everything with them, or so I thought. However, when I arrived at the airport in Bangkok, they never showed up although they said they would be picking me up, and then again they never showed up when I asked to be picked up from my hotel for the pre-surgery appointment. Although there is information on their website, they seem to simply set their surgery rates arbitrarily (and I really am not well-off anyway, and don't look like that). Plus they never responded to the essential questions I had from my side before I left for Thailand, i.e., the name of the surgeon, his/her specialisation, where I would be operated on, etc. No responses to my emails started about a week before my arrival in Bangkok. On the opposite side of the spectrum I found Dr Pichet: very thorough in communication, very specific information, responds immediately to all your queries online, etc. Since I had had everything arranged with the PAI, and because I didn't go through with them after my consutlation with them, one of the biggest reasons being that the PAI staff kept referrring to transmen as "she", coupled with aforementioned issues, I found myself in an extremely tight situation where I had only a small window of opportunity before I would need to leave Thailand. I searched frantically online, and contacted 3-4 other surgeons and hospitals, and the first response I got was from Dr Pichet, the second from the Yanhee hospital. So Dr Pichet is your guy!

@Make it good - it was indeed a bit stressful, but then I know not to get stressed as things always happen for a reason, for better. Recovering well, Dr Pichet's been very good at post-surgery check-ups as well. I had a question yday, and I emailed him that, and 20 min later I was picked up and brought to the surgery for a check-up :) So I def was lucky to not go with the PAI. Will most probably do my further surgeries with him as well, when I can afford them.

Thanks! I found PAI hard to communicate with so I'm looking for other options.

Thank you Jev for the info! I contacted Dr. Pichet for my top surgery. You are right! He's one of the professional surgeons in Thailand. Dr. Pichet is knowledgeable, taking all of my questions very seriously. He makes me feel comfortable answering me in short times via e-mail messages. He also helped me looking for some nice and cheap accommodations in Bangkok. So I booked to have surgery with him in January 2013. Look forward to having my surgery and visiting Bangkok!

Alek, good luck with the surgery with Dr. Pichet. My greetings to him. I will need a follow-up surgery at some point when I get my ass to Thailand as I've been worried about the extra tissues that I can feel on the one side of my chest. Also, be specific about the nipple reconstruction - mine've been left pretty much as they were, which was not good at all.
