So one of my friends is getting married, and I need to buy something to wear for it. I tried some jackets, but they dont seem good on me, I feel like Im packed in a truck. And for some reason last year I didnt buy one jacket that looked good on me. So, I have to buy something nice, but also cheap for the wedding. I was thinking maybe some dark pants, I got a shirt and a tie, thats no problem. But, I dont have no formal shoes, so I was maybe thinking on going in sneackers, if that is possible? I acutally never been to a wedding so I dont know what to wear. I dont have money for a suit. So, my question is can I wear sneackers with black jeans and a shirt to a wedding? Maybe with pullover on? I really dont know if I will find any jacket that looks good on me.

If you are not in the wedding party, you have a lot of leeway. Many wedding are formal, but not necessarily suit and tie. I would not wear jeans. Dress pants are not expensive and the shirt and tie is enough with that. A vest, if found, is OK.

I second what lordkat says, a pair of slacks and a shirt and tie is quick suave and not necessarily expensive, for me personally, if I had sneakers that looked nice, I'd probably wear them, but I dress a bit strange anyway, not sure what part of the world you are in, but you could try discount shoe shops :) gl :)

Most weddings are assumed to be formal/semi formal occasions unless specified by the bride/groom.
I think what you said you will wear will probably suffice, except for the shoes. Sneakers aren't normally worn - you will need to get something a bit dressier - if you can swing it, grab something dressier from the discount shoe stores. If the weather is hot enough, a lot of male guests forgo the jacket except for the formal photos.

if the sneakers are black it should be alright. regarding jackets i found a nice one at h&m, fits me much better than any others i'd tried on.

I suggest you ask the bride and groom if they're ok with it first, some people want everyone dressed formally. My boyfriend's brother did that, and he managed to show up with black jeans and sneakers xD.
As for dress shoes, I got some nice ones for like $20 at Target. Comfiest shoes at that wedding too @_@. I was the only one without blisters at the end :'P.
If the bride and groom demand formal, you can rent a nice tux for around $50. You just gotta shop around a bit. It was a few years back, but I remember one of my poorer friends rented one for that price at Men's Warehouse. He was skinny as hell too, so they did a good job finding him one that fit him.

I'd go with a cheap pair of black shoes from somewhere like target, I wore a pair of sneakers to my sister's wedding and wasn't allowed to forget it for years afterwards.
