Title: Specific harness for specific needs...
Post by: jayjthejetplane on April 25, 2012, 12:51:36 PM
I'm looking for a stp/packer harness... dyi or otherwise. I would want one where the balls hang free and the design is pretty discreet and holds close to your body while still not making you look like you have a constant boner. I've seen a few with the balls hanging but they have straps and everything around them that makes it look awkward and have too much going on. Input?

I have the SpareParts Pete Commando. I love it. It's comfortable, secure, and you have the choice of having cloth between you and the packer or having the packer/STP right against your skin. It does have extra straps but it's not awkward.

But yeah, it gives me a half-boner look. I thought all harnesses did. I'm working on modifying my boxer briefs for more natural packing.

Has anyone tried using the Mango harness for other brand packers?  Will it work with anything else?

I would not buy anything from mango based on their history.

Depending on what exactly you're looking for, I would recommend some basic DIY type stuff. You could take a big loop of elastic and have it sit on your lower hip, make a small loop to hold the packer. If you want to add a third so the shaft of the packer goes through the loop and there's a piece on the back holding it in place, that would work too.

I saw an instructable years ago for how to make a harness out of a bike tire inner tube. I've always wanted to try that, but it hadn't occurred to me to think how well it would do for everyday packing. Hmm.

I just got a MASHO regular and love the way it hangs from my commando harness. I no longer have a half-boner look.

I kinda really like the smell of bike tires. I'll agree it would smell unnatural as all get out. Not bad, though, at least not to everybody. And the playful stretching and give-it-a-go I've done didn't seem to make the inner tubes I have smell any more strongly, fwiw.
