Title: Not Trans, But Absolutely In Love With Someone Who Is
Post by: LoveInMyEyes on April 25, 2012, 11:22:30 PM
I am not sure if I am not supposed to post in this thread because I am not myself trans, but it said introductions for those new to the website so here it goes:

I am 21 and will be marrying my trans-masculine (possibly F to M, he's still exploring who he is and what he is most comfortable as) in two weeks. I identify as bisexual and have supported the transition from day 1. As he is transitioning, I can't help but be excited for him and the changes he is making in his life. The confidence I see growing within him everyday is hardly believable! I am turned on by the packing  :P, the flat chest and certainly by the confident stride of a guy proud to be who he is!

I am wondering, for those of you who are transitioning, what can I do to be the most supportive? I really want to get to know some of the individuals in the trans community and learn all I can about what my guy is going through!

Hope to hear from you all soon!

Hi and welcome.  There are quite a few SO's here, so don't feel like you are not wanted.  There are a lot of posts by them, that would be worthwhile reading.
It is great that you are standing by your bloke, you are both transitioning really, and it is possibly the biggest decision you will make for a long time.  Just showing him you love him unconditionally and simply being there is a good start.

Karen.

Welcome, LoveInMyEyes.

What you can do to be supportive will depend on what your partner needs. That said, don't attend to your partner's needs to the exclusion of your own. Listening is probably one of the simplest and most effective way to be supportive, as that's a starting point for support.

But, it sounds like you're already discovered that.  ;)

If you haven't already done so, please review the site rules and terms of service (http://"https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,2.0.html").

Enjoy your stay!
