Hey guys,

I had a thought about how to give back to the community a bit.

I know there are several programs dedicated to supplying binders to financially in need trans* guys, but I was wondering what you guys think about the idea of setting up something for donations to supply care packages for Shot maintenance (alchohol swabs, band-aids, etc) and say acne stuff with that as well?

Also, top surgery packages. Including things like bendy straws, a compression vest maybe, silicone strips, gauze, those flight pillows that go around you neck (so you can sleep better sitiing up), cold packs, etc?

Do you think this would be well received if I could get it on the go somehow? In terms of surgery, it already costs so much and then you add in all the little extras like this stuff....let me know what you think! :D

I think its a good idea to donate, I myself donated 8 binders after my surgery to some transguys nearby.

This sounds like a fantastic idea. People tend to overlook the little things that can end up making a ton of difference. I say go for it  :)

As a guy coming up on top-surgery, I can say I'd love to get some kind of care package like that! :P I just know I'm going to forget all of the little things! >.<

Thanks, guys :) Bane, man I would def send you one. I actually have my first package set up and will start compiling it soon, for one of my fave guys on Youtube :D. He said he would even back me a bit (financial/material donations) if his company goes well :D :D :D   I really wanna do it now.

You sound like a really giving and awesome guy Kyle. :P I'm sure it will be great for other guys in the community to benefit from such a scheme. :)

Keep me in the loop, and when I get a job, I'll contribute when and what I can.  ^^ Another thought, would those microwaveable pillows that are filled with rice help too? Or is that a no no with top surgery?

I'm not sure about those microwaveable things...I'm going to have to do a lot of research on products and doctor's recommendations for some things. I will keep you posted on what happens with it, if anything :)

There used for like when you have a sore muscle or something kind of like an icy hot patch but with out the ice. I think there also refered to as comfort pillows or something like that. But there easy to make and I didn't know if they would help ^^

I think that's a wonderful idea, if I've ever got spare cash or anything, I'd love to contribute as well.
