Seems most people starting in their early 20s do well. But I've seen some great results from people in their 30s/40s too.

Still, if you start after male puberty, you could and up with foot ball shoulders and trucker hands. Fortunately, my hands aren't gigantic, and my shoulders aren't greatly broad..

But I bet most people won't notice those details if you pass well.

not really , she passes pretty well when you dont know , you wouldnt look at her and think " transgender " but once you do know slightly mauscline features become apparant as certain angles , thats probably just me knowing and being over critical though , if id never know about her not being cisgendered its things id probably never notice

when you look at amanda lepore she started hormones at 14 but she is obviously trans .  i dont know if starting young is a definate guaratnee you will look 100 percent genetically female

More than likely.
I used to want body work, but i would never get silicone, I would get those fat transfer thingies that VannaSiamese got.

Music/Video Blog #1 - Androgyny (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6HmIZElRzY#)  oh she is talking about in this video that she identifies as androgynous now , i wonder how many people do that , transition completely but eventually realie they feel more on the androgynous side of feminine  / not binary

I started at 28 and pass depending on how I dress and wear my hair. I flip flop a lot though, sometimes I put on my guy black coat (it makes me look bigger hehe) and go out with my hair back (like my profile picture).

I don't really stress about it. No one gives me negative comments no matter what i do... though, even if they did.... I guess I'm getting too old to really care what everyone thinks all the time.

She's not obviously trans in my book. Just uh..
That girl has had way too much plastic surgery.
I'm almost scared at that face, but don't see anything masculine about it.

Started hormones at 26. Not sure if I got lucky or what, but I couldn't pass as male after 5 months on HRT. Course I did some facial surgery anyway, but that was more about me than about anyone else...

I'm non-binary and pretty much transitioned. People are complicated and stuff.

That is pretty cool, I didn't know of her before. I don't get out much when it comes to these things.

I worry a lot about the age thing, I'm 33, going to be 34 this year. If I make it long enough I wanted to start trying to transition by the end of the year. More likely I'll be 35 before that happens though, if ever. My main worry though is my size. I'm only 5'9" but very bulky frame I think, except my arms/hands kinda. Plus I'm seriously overweight in a very male way, all stomach. Considering what HRT does to the metabolism I just don't see passing or even looking good to my own personal goals, in my future.

Of course I'm very pessimistic so I could be wrong. Thanks for the post though. It's nice to see things like this giving a sliver of possible hope.

Now I know of two three trans women who are named Candice Cayne aka fabulous nick name, Candy Cane (clever) their namesake http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candis_Cayne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candis_Cayne) (also trans) or drag queen actually?  Maybe both?

Was pretty sure there was a porn star who went by that name.  Better than Lola Cola or Ivanna Notherdrink  ^_^ .

I'm not overly worried about my height considering I've known quite a few women taller than me. I struggle mostly with weight and health, I haven't been a decent weight since I hit puberty so I really don't know what my frame is underneath the fat. I'm also diabetic so even if I didn't despise my body I'd still need to find a way to eat better, for various reasons I've failed at that.

I've seen a lot of women just on here that show age doesn't mean much with HRT, but I still have my doubts about myself, never been very lucky in life.

Thanks though.  :icon_hug:

I started at 29, 7 months HRT now and I'm already hot, prettier than most cis girls at my work too >.< ( my avatar is at 4 months HRT)

I won't need any surgery( except BA perhaps but I'm already B cup) because I'm lucky though my body was somewhat predisposed I had little to no male features not to mention no Adam's apple( which is a supreme gender cue) and I am very small. Bottom line it all depends on 2 things: Is your bone structure androgynous and/or female and are you receptive to HRT.

im at just under 6 foot , but look androgynous and get mistaken for female , well until i speak . i used to get taken for female a lot more when i was like 16 , im 25 now and have lived as a androgynous / feminine male bodied person since i was 14 , i was contemplating going on hormones when i was like 15 and decided not to becuase i thought it would just give me boobs and stop my facial hair and  i though oh well i can just get permant hair removal for that

but i was ignorant that its so much more than chest development , it works on skin , mental state everything . i hate that awful feeling where you want to cry and tears physically wont come out despite it ( i know thats a T related hormonal thing ) if only i could go back to when i was like 15/16 knowing what i know now and get on at least low dose hormones

i have small hips and a waist that goes inwards , but i have wide shoulders , but i know my shoulders have a fair bit of naturam muscle on them so if hormones made me loose that id look narrow . id never be " petite " though obviously

I was made aware of Candis Cayne on the TV series Dirty Sexy Money which was shown on C4, UK, a couple of years ago. It was one of my favourite shows until they cancelled it. She was also in the (car crash) Nip/Tuck series, which I watched because of the TS subjects sometimes incorporated.

If you need to transition and you do, you will feel a lot better which will contribute to positive health a no doubt you will care more about your body and take better care of it.  I know it worked that way for me and others too.

Wishing you intention and resolve.

Some of the posts in this thread are abhorrent to me.  Imagine being this girl  She goes through her teens (male puberty) endures her early twenties confused about her gender and probably her sexuality and social condition in general.  It was in her late twenties that she finally discovered that there are forms of truly effective treatment.

She has in that time worked as a drag performer with natural effeminite characteristics, and has more than likely developed confidence and self-esteem regarding her personality, demeanor, and most importantly her gender.  She had probably saved up a significant amount of money for her initial surgeries and afterwards began modeling and general performance work with agents and contacts she had gained thorugh performance as a drag artist.

Then as she became quickly successful and she used what funds were available to finsih her transition and move on with her life.  How dare anyone judge her for "having work done."  I don't even know the girl, but knowing what she must have gone through, I have nothing but respect and admiration for her successes.

Thanks. I hope so, I'm just struggling with it right now. Plus going into it with really bad depression and anxiety that predates my realizing my gender issues, isn't helping much. It actually amplified both, as you might expect.
