Title: it hurts!
Post by: jsorter on May 05, 2012, 11:23:49 PM
Oh WOW! I have never been sunburnt so bad in my life, especially so easy! I'm wondering if it was my "new" (mtf) hormones that caused this or global warming. What do you guys think?

The global warming crisis is a myth.

Did you use sunscreen?

If I recall correctly, estrogen can make you more sensitive to the sun. And really, use sunscreen when in the sun for any reasonable time.

The skin seems to get more pale after HRT.

So I'd say it could be a big factor.

Is it in areas that have been lasered or where you have lost hair growth? We need to wear moisturiser and sunblock. Once burnt, lots of moisturiser, I have used Aloe Vera cream that seemed good. That sunburn was the day I spent in a bikini and then had to go to my GP who hadn't at that point known I was TG. So I stripped off to show a perfect bikini tan.

Had an interesting conversation.

Sunscreen/block and moisturizers are a must  :)

I would imagine most of you have noticed that all the various cosmetic co.s have a line of various moisturizer's and foundations that feature sunscreen of some level?

There is a reason for that  :)  Female skin is very sensitive and needs a degree of protection

Yea, sunscreen? If I havent been in the sun in a bit, my first exposure can be a nightmare! Yeah my skin has become pale, but they say that's due to increased skin transparencym

And I don't believe in global warming either, at least not by human hands. I do still believe in Green technologies and minimising environmental impact...it's just good housekeeping...oh gosh here I go...

I totally believe in global warming. The Apollo moon landings were designed to place a very large Bunsen burner on the moon. This has been hidden from us, but do you notice the rapid decline in natural gas? And who is paying for the gas use? We are! Truth is out.

Where did I put my Bible.

I had never considered it that way. Now ya have me rethinking everything I thought I knew.

Sunscreen before , and treat it like any burn after. Lots of cold wet flannels to get the heat out.  Then Aloe Vera and moisturiser to stop drying out.

Actually it's the ozone layer hole, not Global Warming.  It's caused by all the dope smoke in the atmosphere over Tasmania, which then travels Northwards!

Yeah, I think it's the difference between male and female skin. Girls typically have much paler skin than boys. At least in fairer skinned races. If you look at before and after photos their skin is usually the first thing to stand out. It goes from that typical kind of boyish color which I dont really have a name for, to a much paler shade.

If you can't afford sunscreen, you can always wear a pair of welding goggles and undies on your head

The cotton panel is great for added protection for your nose and depending on your selection of undies you can still slurp a 'Slurpee' from your local convenience store

Sorry, I'm terrible

The skin synthesizes vitamin D from sunlight, and the lighter the skin is, the quicker vitamin D synthesizes. Vitamin D is important in preventing certain diseases, so such a trait may have evolved to help women better synthesize vitamin D during pregnancy and ensure the best development for their child.
