Title: Double Duty
Post by: Ashley_C on May 09, 2012, 10:15:51 AM
On top of my normal meeting with my GT tonight, I am also meeting (finally) with another therapist who runs a bi-weekly by-invitation-only support group beforehand.

We've been trying to get together for over a month now. I'm excited to be part of the support group and getting sit and talk with others like me. I don't know any other transpeople (outside of you wonderful people, of course) and I'm looking forward to meeting others to discuss.

As a follow-up to my post, I was accepted into the therapy group but I'm not sure if I'm going to join.

My issue is that I would be the youngest person there by at least a decade. Sure, experience is experience but I really am craving getting to meet and learn from girls that are more of my peers.

The woman that runs the group is looking for a real commitment that I am not ready to give since I already am not sure if this group is right for me.

Have any of that have or still go to groups have advice? Should I still go? I have until Saturday to decide.

Please only respond if you have experience with group therapy.
