I did post somewhere else, that there is a book about what terminally ill people reported as being the most important things that they hadn't done in their lives. Number one was not being true to yourself.

Terminally ill people were selected in hospices as they felt comfortable talking about their opinions, and they were not exploring their illness, just the general things in life.

Others were working too hard. Not spending time with their children,. Not spending time with their spouse. Taking life too seriously.

Pretty well sums it up.

I love Twain -

"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first."

He also has one of the best birth dates.  ;)

"The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity"  Proverbs 11:3
I think this tells us that we need to be true to who we are, so that we are not destroyed by trying to be someone else.

yes...like trying to act like a boy your whole life because it was "easier" for others to deal with you......  Sometimes I am so ashamed of myself for doing that

"Sadness and joy often hold hands." -- Rev. Jerri Handy, 7 April 2012

The above was when Rev. Handy was checking on me to see how I holding up with my divorce and transition.

From day to day
just letting it ride
you get so far away
from how it feels inside
You can't let go
cause you're afraid to fall
till the day may come
when you can't feel at all

Garcia, Hunter

From the beautiful song "Comes a Time" by the Grateful Dead..... I honestly can not listen to this song without tears in my eyes, it has haunted me for many many years

When we are trying to tell someone else something we are usually the ones who need to hear it !

If what i say speaks to you then so be it, but it is mostly meant for me !

The words i say to others, hopefully are heard by myself !

I told you, so, but i never listened !

I think that is something that can help all of us.  I just need to put it into practice.
