Title: To shave or not to shave?
Post by: CJ on June 10, 2012, 09:14:51 AM
Hey guys, I've been on t for over 6 weeks now and have (some) dark hairs on my upper lip and a reasonable amount of fuzz coming through on my chin. I know if you shave the hairs can grow in thicker but how long does that take really?

So do I shave or not?  :P

It doesn't actually come in thicker.  That's a very temporary, false thickness.

Personally I left all of my first fluff until it looked bad.  I'd say leave it for now.  Trim/shave it later if it starts looking too unkempt.

I found that shaving helped with my self-esteem even before much came in. It's not necessary to shave very often, of course.

I guess it's more or less a personal preference thing but I shave mine, it's just patchy and looks weird anyway. Patchy beards just make you look like a scrappy teen still in high school.

you should shave atleast the mustache area as it generally looks dumb or gross if you only have a couple of hairs there

Shaving won't actually make the hair grow more, but it does make it look thicker because the ends are blunt rather than tapered.  Might as well try both shaving and growing it out to see which looks best on you.

I've been on T for 5 weeks and a day, and I have some dark hairs around the corners of my mouth, and a lot of fuzz around my side burn area.
I'm in the same position right now, I am so excited to get facial hair that I keep contemplating shaving or not.  If I don't, they will keep growing darker and thicker. But if I do shave, I will get temporaly excited again that there are actually hairs growing.

Yeah I've heard that lee, as long as it looks thicker I'm not too bothered  :P that's exactly how I felt bradan! I've decided to shave it off but I think I will grow it now, see what happens!

I'm not even on T and I have to shave every other damned day :S ...if i ever get on it, I'm going to look like a freakin' wookie.

*ahem* Personally, I would recommend shaving. Makes ya feel all manly and stuff. Plus you don't want to look scruffy.

Geez, I've been on T for three months and I just have a few little chin hairs. Of course, being naturally blond has its downsides; I can't tell exactly how much hair I have. Sideburn fuzz and whatnot.
Anyhoo, I would say it's completely up to you. Shave when you feel like it or when it seems necessary. I shave because when the light hits me, all those little blond hairs pop out and it's a dead give-away. In the end it's up to you.

Oh yeah, I did too, but the peach fuzz multiplies before it turns into real hair. It will get worse. I think it's a good idea to shave whether you're on it or not, because no hair raises less questions than peach fuzz.
