Title: Hi
Post by: Simply Lisa on June 13, 2012, 02:57:27 PM
Hello Everyone

I am a fifty year old, married father of one.  Not sure what I am classified as, but if it helps I was born male.  As far back as I can remember I never felt right about myself.  I knew being male was a mistake and I definitely feel female inside.   I am not sure what I want to do about it.  All options are on my table.  On my third visit my counselor, she suggested a visit here to read about others like me, and perhaps to share my experiences with you.  I hope to find friends here.  Until I write again...

Hi Lisa, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 7208 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister/brother/Andro/member. (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FAnimals%2Fferret-3.gif&hash=f49e2f86761323f2abd9c33941920389dbb3b10f)

If I had any words of wisdom, I would pass along these things:

You are not alone.  You're not crazy.  Your transgendered feelings don't go away no matter how good your public disguise.   Seek help from a professional. Read, study, listen and learn from others here (on this, and other fora) and in the community.  Don't hurt yourself, others, or act in potentially self destructive behavior.  Accept support of others and allow them to lean on you for support.

Hi Lisa,
A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. Glad you joined. WOW!! Your wealth of wisdom certainly is on target. You're off to a good start. Counselor in tow.

He should be the one to navigate you through the labyrinth of emotions and feeling on this matter, as he sees more than just a snapshot we see of you. I jst know this is going to work out for you. Hope to hear more of you in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
