I used to be a musician - piano, and saxophone. Won a few competitions when I was younger. I had a lot of promise and I loved it so much.

I had to give it up for medical reasons. I have a bone condition in my left hand that has made one of my fingers so brittle that the bone breaks with even the slightest amount of pressure (and a few of the others are slowly getting worse as well). I've probably broken it like 8 or 9 times since I was a kid. I've had surgery to try and fix it, but it didn't work. If I break it one more time, doctors tell me I'll have to get it amputated.

At least I can still sing though  :).

What do you consider a "crease"?  I have 4 creases on the joint closer to my hand and 2 on the one closer to my finger tip on both fingers.

I am an amateur escape artist and have been able to escape many rope ties and from handcuffs so far.  I have abnormally long arms that help me with this.  I started when I was a kid, but only briefly.  I only just recently resumed working on this.

Hidrix, you mean bench press or deadlift?

I got up to 6 reps of 95 pounds for three circuits last time I lifted (bench press). Gonna try 100 next time.

How detailed though?  It's easy to say somebody will eventually die, it's another thing to tell them things about themselves that they don't even know (and are true).

I was able to tell my wife when each of our children were conceived.  I was also able to tell her when her sisters were pregnant even before they knew it.
And on a more practical level, when at sea, I can sense a sudden squall coming-up well before any change in the skyline or the waves pattern. This means that we can take-in the proper amount of reefs necessary and be ready before it hits.

What you consider \"detailed\" may not be \"detailed\" for someone else.  These are the main things I can tell by reading the cards.  Your past, your present, your main \"interest\" or \"goal\" at the moment, and naturally your future.  I do not give specific names of persons who appear during a reading, but I am able to describe them by race, hair color, style of attire, etc.

Finally thought of something.

I've seen two plane crashes, a year apart. One close up and one at a distance. First one had no fatalities, but was spectacularly fiery. Second one did have a fatality and luckily it was at a distance.

They were both Voodoo's from the Canadian Armed Forces. Had pilot and copilot aboard. The first one, the copilot landed in the water a few feet from me on the beach and the pilot landed in a tree (both parachuted out safely, albeit not prettily). The second one, the copilot made it out, but the pilot didn't. All I saw was the plane dive into the water. I was out fishing that time.

The first one was so close to where I was on the beach, my parents freaked out because they thought I got hit by the plane. Of course, I was so fascinated by what had happened and by the prospect of annoying the poor guy hanging in the tree with questions, that it didn't even occur to me to find my parents and tell them I was ok.

It seems fairly common (at least in airport chat) that people think it'd be a cool thing to see a plane crash as long as nobody was hurt. And it certainly was for the first one. What's odd is since that time, I've dropped a cousin off at an airport who had a near miss and a turnaround where he had to do the emergency slide, I've been on a commercial flight that suddenly dived because of a near miss, and I was on a private plane where I was worried about the pilot's antics. The next week, he died doing the same acrobatics he was doing when I was a passenger. Maybe planes and me are not a good combination. I don't even fly often enough for that to be statistically normal.

Hidrix,

Facial hair. I've got all you'll ever need if my wife ever lets me shave!!  In fact I once did a first person monolog as John Muir, the Scottish naturalist. My beard was about a foot long at the time. Good lord, I'm glad I don't do that anymore. But if the price is right, I'll start growing it long again.

Oh yeah - In the spirit of this thread - No one knew until now that I was a John Muir impersonator.

ROFL... doing something so trivial as, ya know, changing my sex... doesn't seem to raise any eyebrows whatsoever from anyone.

But no hotdogs!!!! Amazing! No way! lol...

I didn't even taste pizza until around 30. I had a problem with food, I can't explain it now, it just scared me somehow.. so I only ate a few "safe" things from babyhood through my 20s.

I've since grown waaaaaaaaaaaay past that though, lol. I'm like a shark now: an eating machine. But I still won't touch beef. Dunno why.

I just loove all sea-food. Crabs, lobsters, shrimps, prawns, squid, octopus, musles, oysters, clams, perriwinkles, urchins etc...
Here a few of my preferred ways:
-Live oysters with just a filet of lemon juice on top,a few slices of buttered sodabread washed down with a pint of creamy Beamish and I am in heaven!
-For a threat on the beach, put fresh musles in a nest of dried sea-weeds cover with more dried sea-weeds. Set the sea-weed alight and wait until the musles open.  Fingers-licking and lips-smacking delicious specialy when topped by long draugths of ice-cold cider. Mmmm. Crabs and Lobsters cooked that way makes the shell britle and allow for easy access to the meat inside, specially the claws.
-The raw coral star from the inside of sea-urchin on buttered brown bread but this time washed down by lashings of Muscadet wine. A feast worthy of a Queen!
-Perriwinkles and limpets thrown into boiling seawater for a couple of minutes, taken off their shells and tossed with lemon juice in a shredded dandeline's leaves salads.
- Squid (with the bone taken out) and octopus (with the beak and ink-pouch taken out) must be well beaten on the rocks with a stick before being part boiled for a couple of minutes in a mixture of their ink and sea-water. Then fried quickly  with chopped wild garlic and fennel fern. They can be eaten as or cut and tossed in the salad with the limpet and perri-winkles.
Bon appetit!

I used to pay my bills by playing clarinet.  I married a flutist from the symphony who grabbed my heart with her beautiful tone.

I paid my way through college by playing bass and singing in a rock band.  We sucked but we were popular enough to pay for school and living expenses.

Kristi, I had a crush on an oboe player in high school.  I took her out once and the experience killed it.

A few days ago I met an old friend from years ago. She is going to a hard time in work so I offered her a Totem Pole Session where she coul get in touch with her Totem Animals and Spiritual Guides for support. While talking I did mention my TGism and she was very interested. When she phoned me to confirm tonight I aked her if she would like to meet Maebh. She said she would so when she arrived I greeted her en femme. We had dinner together with my girlfriend. Then as Maebh I guided her on her journey. After the session she said that I looked so well and natural that she was amazed how relaxed she was. We arranged an other dinner and session for next week and she asked me to be Maebh for it again.

I am at esprit (a TG conference) and was having trouble being included in activities because people kept thinking I was an SO (a GG).  I know because a bunch of people expressed their surprise when I told them.  Also, one of the security people denied me entry without my badge and i needed to prove I belonged to the TG group and did so by having somebody say they had seen me around.  Now that more people are arriving that know me, I'm having an easier time.  I still think there's a bunch of people who don't know.  I guess I need to stop doing TG oriented activities.  Oh well, it was mostly free.

And that dag blasted dog of mine will not come in. She's outside barking and chasing the coyotes.  She is such a brat sometimes.

Cindi,
My cousin finds a .223 and a night scope excellent for coyotes.  Yeah, I know they're God's critters but so are the calves and they bring a lot more money when they are grown than coyotes do.  And yes, we have coyotes in Georgia and even inside Atlanta.  They seem to thrive on cats and small dogs.

When my sister and I were young, we both used to "see" and "feel" things in our house.

Often, if my Mother was not home, we'd hide because the spirit that lived in her closet would come looking for us. I saw it up close once -- within about two feet of me. I held my breath for a long, long time, so that it did not hear me in her room.

It was tall and thin and dark, but beautiful like an orchid.

When we moved from there, it was very angry, and eventually followed my sister at one point until she moved far away.

Spirits are all around us. My ex-roommate that was murdered is my guardian angel now.
Sometimes, Leigh comes to visit, if I am sad or lonely. I know that it is her, because she was one of the only people that could sweet talk my kitters.

I suddenly seem to have the ability to remain lucid during dreams.

I have control over what happens. Time seems to have no definition ( some of my dreams seem to go for weeks on end before I wake). And I remember everything on waking.

And best of all, they are so *positive*. With all of the bad things that have been happening in my life the last few weeks, it is such comfort to know I can go to sleep and be in a place that can only be good. And that on waking, I can go back and reflect on it. Remember how good it was. It's giving me hope right now.

No please!  Don't kill him!  What is wrong with Cupid?  Don't you like his little sweet face or you have something against "people" with wings?  ;D  Come on now!  I love Cupid and everything that has to do with Greek mythology.  As you know, Cupid is the son of Venus(Aphrodite).  His counterpart in Greek mythology was Eros (do you like Eros, katia?), god of love. The main myth involing Cupid is his love to Psyche. He falls in love with her, but his mother is jealous of her beauty so she tells him to make her fall in love with the ugliest man in the world, but he loves her so much he can't and makes sure she doesn't see him. One night she looks at him and he gets angry. He leaves her unless she can complete four tasks. She does complete all four tasks and then they are married by Zeus and she becomes immortal.  There, I've told you his life, do you like him a little bit better now? :P

Well, life gives you lots of surprises.  I've always said that some of the most beautiful things in life (like love for instance) are like the rain, they just pour unexpectedly.  We're certainly changing, evolving, forgetting, healing, living, loving.... *giggles*  ;)

I can dislocate both of my shoulders using just the muscles and put them right back in place and it doesn't even hurt.  From my research, this is something called positional non-traumatic shoulder dislocation.  It was not caused by an injury, I was just born that way.  That's how I escape from being tied up so easily when doing escape artist stuff.  I've been doing this all my life and only recently figured out this is what I was doing with my shoulders.  I never experience any shoulder problems either.

Can you clasp your hands behind your back and raise them overe your head until they are in front of you without unclasping your hands? I saw someone do that trick one time, and it hurt just to watch.

I drive for a living, but my eyes are so bad that I can't read the road signs at all. I do everything from memory and landmarks.

No, I'm not THAT flexible.  I've watched that on youtube though.  I just pop my shoulder out of joint and stuff slides right down it.  If I'm in a tight cramped space, I tend to use that method for getting out of my jacket if it gets too hot.  I can also bend fingers backwards so that there's about a 30 degree angle between the finger and the back of my hand and touch my thumbs to my wrists, plus some other things.

OK Mom.  ;D ;D ;)

You have to realize, I supervize a group of young men, and unless I show extreme toughness, they neither respect nor respond to me. Now that everyone knows that I do in fact have a broken bone in my foot, and I worked anyway, neither missing a day, nor asking for sympathy, they are showing respect for my ability to work thru the pain.

If you work in the world of men, than you have to compete head to head, and only the toughest win out. Sure, I wish that I had an office job, but I don't have the education or smarts for that kind of work, so this is my life. Another butch would understand.

In the family I was raised into, you did not see a doctor or seek medical help, or miss work unless you were dead or dying. It was simply not allowed.

As long as you don't live in a van down by the river, that's cool!  I did once. Live in a van down by the river. Don'r recommend it. Or living in your van in Denver during the winter either! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I wanted to be a nun as a child. I thought they had a good thing, being "on the inside" with God and all of that. Then I found out that my Goddess created their God, and I got over it.

Wow, that is exactly what my best friend said to me just last week. She has a cat sitter if she is gone all day.

I am in love. I thought I was, now I know. The person is visiting from out of town next month. I haven't felt this well since she left. It's amazing how she makes me feel.

I lived with a girl-friend in a van between the sea and the marshes of Biguglia for over a year . Away from everything and everybody as nobody would go there because of the mosquitoes. We had a fire going all the time and kept burning Eucalyptus bark and leaves to smoke them away. We fished, hunted and gathered everything we hate. Free from all the pressure and crazyness of the world, it was a powerful healing time for both of us.

Where in the hell is Biguglia?

Warm is good, cold bad in a van. IT'S LIKE LIVING IN A REFRIGERATOR!

It is South of Bastia on the Thyrénean Coast of Corsica.

I had insulated the van against the heat as well as the cold with 25mm (1 inch) thickness of insulating foam sandwiched beetween 2 aluminium skins acting as heat reflectors and vapour barriers. Finally I made the internal surface covering from varnished 5mm pine strips clading for the walls, doors and ceiling, while the floor was woolen carpet laid over 20mm solid-wood floor planks.  Once we spend 48 hours in it, caught in a blizzard and freezing temperature, when snowbound in Andora (In the Pyrénées mountains between France and Spain). The heat of a parafine oil lamp and a couple of goats skins were enough to keep us warm and cosy until the snowploughs reopened the road down to the valley.

I'm really scared of wasps, but I don't mind being around bumblebees.

When I was younger, I was so scared of them that I couldn't even bare to look at pictures of them, let alone touch the picture, as if I was afraid doing so would suddenly make the bee/wasp materialize into a live one.

why do bags of chips and such always say that there are "3 servings" in a bag when everybody damn well knows that youre gonna scarf the whole freaking bag at once.

Simple, those are the "big grab" variety.  They also have single serving sizes available, but those are usually sold as a bundle.

What I don't understand is the soup cans that have 2.5 servings. ???  If you live alone and only eat 1 serving every so often, the rest of the soup rots.  And if there are several people, who in their right mind is going to eat only half a serving when the 2 other people next to them are eating whole servings?!?  It's a fight just waiting to happen!  I tell you, eating soup can sure be a dangerous and risky endeavor.

Teleiophile, It's this old term coined by Ray Blanchard meaning you find adult people attractive. I like because it gives a weird word to such a common thing.

Mine too, you can't beat real butter for wholesome goodness.

Did you know that you a cholesteral rich diet allied to exposure to the sun helps fix calcium in your bones and teeth? The trick is to drink red wine with it!

Too bad I don't like alcohol.

Panasonic used to make tabletop fans, Mitsubishi used to make TVs...I've seen both and own the fan.

I prefer watching living wildlife but I've eaten crocodile, giraffe, elephant, Cape buffalo, kudu, impala, springbok, blesbok, ostrich, guinea fowl, pheasant, wild boar, red deer, swordfish and kangaroo.
