I've had a difficult time finding dress shirts (button-down) that fit. I'm a really small guy (5'2"), and the shirts I try on in my size are too narrow to fit my hips. If I go a size bigger, they're too long. Would anyone happen to know of any stores that sell good dress shirts for transguys or stores that sell wider-fitting dress shirts?

have you considered cutting the bottom of the longer shirt and then sewing it up after? or if you need to you could just tuck the shirt in so that the length is not a problem

I've used modern tailor. It's made to measure, just need to get a shirt that's close to fitting you. If you want it tighter in some places you just make it smaller.

In the old, old days dress shirts used to go by neck size and arm length.   You might try short sleeves rather than long sleeves.   I got rid of all those when I decided that there was no way that I was going to wear men's clothes.    So if there are changes in men's clothing sizes, don't know!  don't care.

I've found that getting the bigger size that fits your hips, in a slim cut/modern fit/ etc. shirt usually fits similarly to getting the next size down in a traditional fit shirt. That's what I usually buy :)

I noticed someones else suggested custom shirts. There pretty affordable now, you can get a custom made one for $65 maybe less with a coupon code. But at your height I think you might run into problems with the shirts being to long, but if you tuck them in all the time that shouldn't be as much of an issue.

There's regular cut, fitted cut and slim cut normally for off the shelf shirts and the sizes are based on neck collar size and sleeve length. Most regular cuts fit pretty baggy, fitted is tighter and slim is for really thin people (not me), depending on the brand some are really thin and others slim cuts are baggy. I recommend getting a spread collar vs a point, its the wider of the collars.

Also there are different styles of cuff's, the french cuff is the cuff that you see allot in the movies, it takes cuff links to hold the sleeve together and is kind of know as formal wear. Theres the barrel cuff which is more casual and most shirts will have this. I'd recommend a barrel cuff unless your going to a formalish event.

The least expensive shirt at modern tailor is $25 with shipping. They also provide a shorter collar if you want it. For me, most shirts are too tall in the collar and eat up most of my neck.
