Does anyone else find that buying some clothes makes you feel better when you're a little depressed?  It was an impulse stop at a clearance rack today that made my whole day brighter.  Hadn't bought new tops in 20 years.  So nice, and so happy. 

I bought a red pencil dress and somehow wearing it at the change room and walking about made me feel a million dollars - no depression here :)

Yes.. buying clothes make me very happy... but what makes me feel really good.. buying shoes...

Yesss!  Clothes, shoes, cosmetics, whatever—doesn't matter what; I love shopping and it always makes my day much better!

Very much so! buying new clothes always put a smile on my face. Shoes have always been a thing of mine too even when I was in boy mode. Haven't added to my real collection yet :(

Double plus votes for shoes, ESPECIALLY if I know what outfit they're going with.

Love shopping for clothes :) It really makes me feel good!!!!

And finding that I wear a medium or small in skirts is not bad either, lots more choices it seems.

Got these skirts and sundress on the last trip, and it seems like every few weeks I have a Victoria's Secret order on the way.

Finding shoes that fit is a bit of a miracle and online seems to be winning in that deptartment.

Enjoyed some retail therapy recently, new tank tops, floaty shirt-dress and a couple of cami's.  Also got some new nail polish and mascara, and then the free gift bag of goodies that came with the cosmetics purchase.  All in all was a good day out :)

When they are both comfortable to wear and looking sexy, then I can smile and feel happy. For example, I purchased 4-inch high heels sandals about 9 years ago, and I still wear it because I even can carry a heavy bag without any pain in my feet with that sandals.

Yes, finding shoes or boots that are stylish and fit well. I wear women's 10w. The 10 is no problem, the W is. Costco sells a an UGGS knockoff, exactly like the brand name except the label and price. I have bought like six pairs...but you really can't wear them in the rain. Then UGGS came out with a rainboot:$250 at Nordstrom's but well worth it for all the compliments I get.

But, even though you can wear boots year round on many days in the Bay Area, one still needs open shoes. After getting a French pedicure last week, I went to Payless and found three pairs of open shoes and sandals.

Shopping! One of the many joys of being female!

I've never really been a big clothes person, but I love catalog shopping online. The only problem with that is it doesn't always fit like you'd want. Still, nothing feels better than getting all dolled up in dress or skirt outfit with the  hair and makeup done. And I may be 5'11", but high heels always make me feel like a million bucks-- until my feet get sore.

Glicious, I'm sure you absolutely kill in a red pencil dress.

yes!!! lol dresses, tops, shoes, i love all of it =) and bras... i love buying bras! i have way way to many, but i just cant help myself

I'm not a big clothes shopper. I may go get a few new things about twice a year and then only if I absolutely need to. Stuff tends to last me a long time and I will wear something out before I replace it. Currently, my main tennis shoes(3 years old) that I wear for work and such are worn out on the bottom and have a hole developing, but I'm still wearing them, lol.  But when I do go, I search the clearance racks and tables first, I pretty much will not buy something unless its on sale. Heck, the tops I have that get the most compliments are usually less than $10. 

the big issue I have is getting jeans, too often size 8 long seems to be the first ones that run out at stores so I have to search for those. I don't like ordering clothes online as I much prefer to try things on as you just don't know what real size the manufacturer is actually labeling as something else.

Buying new clothes makes me more depressed. I hate shopping and when I try new stuff on which I think will really look good it doesn't fit properly. It's very hard for me to find clothes that work right and give the right impression. It takes a long time to find clothes that fit and at the same time look feminine.

I had a better shape prior to taking HRT and HRT has just made me pile on the weight in the wrong places, especially round the belly area. Tight clothes look really bad, so I have to go for more loose fitting tops now.

I think I like shopping a little too much. I have fun with anything/everything really. I must say though, however rare the occasion may be, new jewelry makes me feel the best, its so sparkly! :laugh:

Yes. They look sexy. About 9 years ago, my wife purchsed it for me at Payless shoes, USA. It was just ca. $20, but I still wear it. This year it came apart, but I attched stripes again with adhesives. However, most shoes at Payless shoes are not so much enduring.

It is size 10. Here in my country, the biggest size of most ordinary brands is just US women's 9. In internet, I can order "Big-size" highheels sandals, but the choice is limited.

Jordache high water jeans for juniors. I guess this style was popular in the 1980s. I purchased it at a Salvation army saving store. The price was $1 or $2.

Barbie, that style of jeans is getting popular again with the young "hipster" girls, they seem to like the high waisted look from the 80's a lot.

I must say that you wear those well!!

For me, it's a new skirt that does the trick--and, of course, new shoes to go with it.  A dark, Swedish-blue skirt with small white flowers on it, knee length, was my most recent purchase.  It is interesting that shopping for new clothes may be fun, but the right purchase can truly make my day (if not my entire week).  Fall is just around the corner....time to look for knit skirts!

Yes. It sounds like that the cycle is about 30 years. Here I do not yet see any woman wearing high water jeans, but I may be the first one. Some of tight women's jeans can make my hips look bigger.

Marybeth gave me some of her jeans that dont fit her anymore, she is 6' tall and they are size 8, I wear a 6 but they seem to fit ok....she paid $300 for on pair and $250 for the other, she was quite the shopper back when she had a much better paying job, lol

What new clothes make you smile and feel good?

The clothes that work make me feel good. I can buy a whole load of clothes and maybe only one or two items will really work on me. I've learned that darker tops on the top look better (black, purple etc) and lighter one's look worse (white, yellow etc). Also lighter colored pants (jeans) or skirts (white, light blue denim etc) look better than darker one's and give the illusion that the bottom half of my body is bigger than the top!
