Title: How tall are you girls?
Post by: Whatever91 on July 09, 2012, 03:18:45 AM
Hi everyone :)

This is something which has really started worrying me and my ability to pass. I'm quite tall, at about 6ft1. I seem to tower over most people when i'm walking through town, so i have no idea how i'm going to pull it off as a female. How tall are you girls? do you have a problem with your height? Any tips on counter-acting it?

Alongside with height, i also have very large feet and big hands. :( Size 12 UK, size 14 US.. So yeah canoes. It's hard enough buying mens shoes at this big, nevermind women's shoes. I was told high heels were good at hiding big feet, but that will just add to my height problem. What about boots like ugg boots you think they'd be good at hiding big feet?

Thanks everyone!

Georgia !

I'm about five seven, so in flats it's not bad; but as the heels get higher I start to stick out more and more.  From a foot size, I wear an 11 or 12 depending upon the shoe (actually an 11 "wide" is normally the best fit if I can find that).  I wish I was a size smaller as it seems like a lot of stores will carry shoes up to a size just under that.  So it seems to limit where I can go for shoes.  That being said I have a couple of pairs of "booties" that do seem to make my feet look smaller.

I'm 5'10" gurlllll. Sometimes 5'10" and a half because I guess I'm shorter later in the day, but I usually don't mention the half, lolz. I'm still taller than most people -.- oh well, sometimes I think it's funny. ;D

Height comes up every now and again. Most models are a minimum of 5'11" and many are over. Tall girls get good looks, long legs are attractive and tall girls can wear all sorts of cute stuff. Shoe size isn't a problem many woman have 'big' feet. Wear elegant shoes that look good, ugg boots look disgusting except around the house (IMO). If you've got it flaunt it, and so many short girls want to be tall.

I'm 171cm which is 5' 7" I used to be 5' 9'' but have shrunk on HRT. But I wear heels so I'm usually 5'10' ish. and many girls are taller than me without heels.

Tall guys like tall girls as well :o

I'm 5' 7" in height and I am a size 7 U.K shoe size which I think is on the big side for a female. I used to be able to get into a size 6 but I think they are making women's shoes smaller these days?

Angelique, I've been on hormones for many years and I've never lost any height.  I know some claim to have lost height but I have seen no real medical evidence of this and I'm a bit skeptical of various claims of what HRT can do.

6ft 1in.. Was 6/3 3-4 years ago. I am not sure if I can be shorter but if its possible give it to me :D.

Shoesize was 12 1/2 (mens) before but now it is  9 in mens size. I am not sure what happened? It is my with that has decreased over time.

Pretty big hands unfortunately but they atleast have a feminine look. All women on my mothers side have big hands so I got them from her.

You can loose height from HRT, my doctor told me this too. It has something to do with the fluid in the disks in your spine.. Oh well something like that anyway. I have shrunken because of that but I did this even before hormones.

I will speak with my Endocrinologist about these issues and he will probably laugh about it! he's the one of the most experienced endo's in London, U.K. But I suppose it's nice that the American's are more positive and upbeat about HRT even if a little mis-guided. I'd like to see real written medical evidence of these claims?

5'8.5,though my friend swears im her height of 5'7 and just fooling >:-), so I'm pretty lucky  and a 6.5-7 in men's:p

Angelique you won't be 5'r4, 5'6 yeah  maybe.

About being tall for those who are, yeah it sucks but what can yo do? You guys have to put inan extra effort to pass as you'll stand out more. My measurements are tiny tough for being 5'i8.5 and a guy  :P (13"shoulders, 27" ribcage,22" waist, 32"hips, 5.75" wrist---how do I even know that?lol)

I really recommend losing weight before hrt, especially if you're muscular, try to lose it. The muscle on your frame makes you look broader and manlier.

Still a 6'2".  My younger brother lost a little more than an inch these past three years.  I noticed that I edged out my nephew who was 6'3" and he's is in his early 30's.  He lost some of his height along with his buddies in the Army in Iraq due to toting heavy packs all day.  That compresses the discs of the spine.  Still a 11 1/2 wide mens shoe.

I dont know actually. I am not educated in the medical field so I have to trust my doctor in that regard. But he might be wrong.

I do agree with NB, I'm getting older and my cartilage contraction is occurring while  being on HRT  which 'may' affect this as it may affect osteoporosis. My shoe size and hand size have not changed, just my height, and there are lots of reasons for that.

Do not have any expectation of body changes on HRT. The distribution is very wide and is due to many factors that cannot be controlled, age, genetics, past history, metabolic syndrome. This is a very difficult field to study with a lack of interest among scientific and medical professionals, I'm just starting to look at starting some studies and collaborations, but funding opportunities are extremely poor.

Didn't know HRT could shrink people. Hopefully it will take an inch or two of me, then I'd be happy! I'm totally jealous of some of you girls, wish i was more petite.

@Cindy: I'm not really the model type, lol! And my theory with boots was that, if the actual foot was hidden, then it may look smaller? I just figured ugg boots would be even better as they are elasticated to some degree so I'd be able to get a smaller size. Personally i think they look great too; especially the short black ones!

Oh dear. I've heard it all now. HRT turns you all into ditsy petite little women. I now have half the proof.

If you find you're shrinking, it sound more like a medical issue. Old age, curvature of the spine, osteoporosis all can do it. If you think it's HRT then it may be just pure coincidence and down to issues with maintaining bone density on hormones.

I've been on hormones coming up for 18 years. I've shrunk a total of 0.5".

I'm about 5'9 and a half. I used to wear a size 10 in men's shoe but I fit in a men's 9 and a woman's 11 comfortably now. For gloves I wear a woman's large or xl depending on the brand. Woman's glove have always fit me better. In men's sizes the finger lenghts for the index finger is always too short for me.

I'm 6' (and a quarter inch) and I love my height. I'm quite slight with a few nice curves at 145lbs, 34" ribcage, 26.5" waist, and 37" hips. Only thing I'm missing is boobs /sadness (I'm an AA, aka flat).

Unfortunately, clothing can be frustrating. For shoes, I'm a 12US women's, so I'm basically stuck with Long and Tall stores, which means a limited selection and rather expensive. I cheat and go for unisex/men's stuff sometimes, but my feet are so slender that doesn't always work. I don't really like heels, and don't wear more than a 1" or 2" rise.

I take a 26" or 27" waist and 35" or 36" length in pants which is a pain, and again means more expensive stuff - though when I find jeans that fit, they look kind of awesome on my endless legs. Also, any long-sleeved tops are a bit of a nightmare. On the other hand, I personally like that I can fit some men's tops, as I like the styles, but most people wouldn't care about that I suppose.

Anyway, it's manageable, and I've never had any passing issues even with my boyish style. Honestly, the best advice is to own it. Turn it into a blessing rather than a curse - back straight, head up, project confidence and feel free to look down your nose at all them shorties that populate our world. I regularly get compliments on my height. Standing out doesn't have to be a bad thing. ;)

I lost nearly an inch of height when i lost 40 lbs, so it seems there are lots of factors that effect it, I wouldnt be shocked if HRT did but your bones are not just going to start shrinking, you might lose a tiny amount from bone density loss but, the bulk of any loss would almost have to be soft tissue which i would assume (though i am not a medical professional) could only make up a few inches of your height.

As to the original question, i am like 5'9.5 so we could just say 5'10 at one point I was a full 6ft but weight loss, muscles loss, and other factors I guess have shrunk me. I dont see that as a big issue to be honest. I know gg taller and shorter than me.

Ahhh height,   I am a 5 11 cisgirl who wears a size 10 women's shoe.  My height has always been annoying to me.  I get very frustrated with it over time,  especially when it comes to shoes.  When I was younger I would wear heels but now I wear ballet flats as much as possible.

Kitten heels can be a great way of wearing a dainty shoe and not getting a lot of height but they rarely look nice on me.

Ballet flats are the way to go,  also very flat sandels with pedicures.

One of my cisgirlfriends is 6' 2"  I think and she struggles the same way. She's married to a guy who is 5 9 and it's very noticeable but she got used to it.   My ex husband was 5 8.

I know people say not to care,  but it is hard to look feminine if you gain any weight at all.  Sooo frustrating.  I've gotten clocked for years based on my height  and I'm cis.  :(

Hi,  I am 6'4" and I would be very happy to loose some of those inches.  Shoe size between us 11 and US 12.  i have found that its not impossible to find size 12.  nine west makes that size and they make beautiful shoes.  I would have to have some serious FFS to come close to passing at my height.

5'10.5".  I'm happy with my height, and hope it doesn't drop with HRT.  The only disadvantage I feel about it (well, okay, maybe the weight thing moxie mentioned) is finding an appropriate partner; I've always preferred women as tall or taller than me.  Height is hot!

Shoes are size 10.5.  I suppose I can always wear heels if I lose height.

At 5'7" I don't think I stand out too much.  I almost always wear at least 3" heels though (women's size 10 US.)  I don't think my hands are all that large, but keeping my nails manicured and beautifully painted with bright colors goes a long way towards keeping them pretty and feminine.  As a competitive pool player, my hands are often exposed under bright lights on display on a pool table; I like to keep them nice.

At any rate, my hair is very, very long, with pink and blue and purple and burgundy and jet black streaks and my chest is tattooed... and I usually have bright green or pale gray contact lenses in my eyes... if my height doesn't make me stand out, everything else will!

I'm 5ft 7ins tall, take UK size 6.5 to 7 shoes depending on make and weigh 9st 13lbs (139 lbs). I also am a size 12 in UK clothes (occasionally a size 10). It's just the way I'm drawn!!

I am happy with those stats as I work with some women who are taller than I am (-:

I think it's very unlikely that you could lose several inches due to HRT. Wishful thinking, I think. A trans friend of mine is 6ft and hates being that tall, but I think she looks very feminine.

I'm 5'9 in bare feet and wear a us 11.  I used to have some trouble finding shoes in my size but it seems to ne getting easier and easier to find them in my size.  Though some places do still cut off at size 10.  Very annoying when the shoes are really cute and they don't make them in my size or they only made 2 which sold out 5 minutes after they were made.

I measure 6' tall, but I'm slightly above eye-level with my friends who are also 6', so maybe I'm closer to 6'1". Shoes are US 12.5-13 Mens, 165 lb (working on that bit...).

Women come in all shapes, sizes and heights!

Im 5'8. Please take a look at this page. It presents a variety of British women who are all of the 'average' weight for UK women of 11 stone (154lbs). The heights range from 5'2 to 6'1! Some are tall, some short, and a couple of them have pretty broad shoulders too, and a kind of thick build.

Last time I checked (quite a long time ago) I was 5' 10". So it might be a bit less by now. Currently 136 Lbs.

In the shoe department it is a mixed bag of good and bad luck. My size, depending on the type of shoe, is a UK 6 - 6½ or US 8 - 8½. Which is great, except that I also have high arches which makes it really difficult to find shoes that are not flat lace-ups that fit properly and are also semi-comfortable to wear (briefly, a normal foot stands on the heel, ball of the foot and side of the foot. Three point stable. With high arches you stand on the heel and ball of the foot, two points unstable. Makes high heals more difficult). I actually found a decent pair of shoes the other day that are more or less comfortable, I can walk in from here to the train station, look good and that I can wear under a skirt or dress. I am so pleased! They even accept my arch supports. And it only takes a little tape to prevent blisters. I will probably go and buy a second pair.

As for being tall, eh... the Dutch are a tall people, so I really don't stand out that much around here. When I am visiting my relatives in Michigan, yes, then I am taller than most women. In either case, that is the least of my worries.

I wish I was 5' 4" Keaira and I think you are the record holder? I'm 5'7", so just average. I really like your new pic by the way!

I find it hard to believe that people loose height but it may be more to do with aging that HRT. I've been on HRT for over a decade and I've never lost any height.

I find very easy to believe, like many many here over the years have posted and ended up shorter in transition then before, including myself. I was once 5,5 now less then 5,3 and who really care if it is age or hrt the end result is something many of us can be happy with and that is what really matters.

Regarding height loss, you may find similar height loss in groups who are not transsexual. You need a control group. One starts shrinking after the age of 30 for a number of reasons. People even find that their height loss or gain corresponds to weight loss and gain . If it's osteoporosis then you're storing up a lot of problems for the future. Personally,  I wouldn't be happy about that.   :( Just don't count on HRT making you shorter (is that a good thing?), especially if you're young and healthy.

Personally, I seem to have lost half an inch on HRT, and I'm young (started at 26, now 28) and healthy. I think it's mostly just from muscle loss leading to the bones compressing a bit - I sure hope it's not / don't think it is osteoporosis. Also half an inch is a fairly small percentage of my total height (I went from 6' 3/4" to 6' 1/4"). I'd be surprised to see a big loss in height for youngish healthy people too.

Also, I would really rather not lose anymore height. I'm not even particularly happy about the half an inch I lost. Seriously, why do people want to be short? Height is an advantage for like... everything. And most people, at least in my world, find height to be attractive, regardless of gender. Hell, I got catcalled yesterday as "nice pretty tall lady" by a young Jamaican bloke, for people who like that kind of thing.

Height, for those of us who got it, is one of the very, very few physical advantages that we get out of our horrible testosterone-induced puberties. Stop bitching, go model. :P

I used to be 5' 10" and really worried about passing as a result. However, over the last year I have lost 56lbs in weight, and i seem to have shrunk down to 5' 8" which I am delighted about. My shoe size is a 9, so not terrible. i have a long way to go to get to my ideal weight so hopefully that'll be a couple more inches off the height too.

I know plenty of genetic girls who are 6ft or over. I've learned that passing is as much about confidence and body language as it is 'looking the part'.

I am 5'6 so while a little tall I still fit in easily, I'm shorter then all my girlfriends, most of them are pretty tall. But my feet are a little large, size 9. It isn't hard to find shoes that fit. I'm not on HRT yet so I don't know if I's going to shrink or not.

I FOUND THIS THREAD VERY INTERESTING.

Almost all are living either in US or Europe (UK and other countries nearby, and also Australia and NZ.

But the problem is not to be tall, actually is a gift,

I am 6.0 ft flats which means on the tall side as i cannot wear nothing lower than 5inch high heels, and now the pumps comes with a 1.5 or 2 inch platform which make the shoe arount the 7inches aprox, making me supper tall, but the other women are also tall as the heels are for all, so that variable is constant.

then the other point is depending where you live, well it happens i live in China for example and i am not chinese, so you all can imagine the foreign tall girl in a skinny pencil fitted skirt and toned legs in high heels walking down the sidewalk window shopping....yes all people stares all people notices, the avg is 5ft as tall people here, but i found out that they do stare at me cause i am tall and maybe atractive according to my friends that loves so much, on times i believe that and feels really cool, not kiddin taxi drivers and many people  passing by just pull over to check me out and on times try to ask me for dirctions, because my rule is not to speak for me not to give my self away, i just ignore by pasing by earphones and with my sunglasses when is the day or playing with my phone when is the night.
My  GG and CD friends who knows me, tells me that i look very beautfull and is very good to be tall and even wearing high heels is even much more atractive (which i think my arranging and passing is not really perfect but as my race is white not caucasian nor chinese is much more diffcicult to see  if i am a man or a girl, when my body shapping is flawless (sometimes), even if my beard shadow can be vissible on times, is hard to conclude.

this exercise of walking around and actually walking tall with the elbows toward the body and feeling on the top of the world, is the key to giving yourself selfasurance and motivates more when you know you are fulling everybody. (this is a tip for the closet cds o TV)

I am straight and before  i  started to go out fully enfemme, during the day and in pucblic, i was not really knowing the art of makeup and body shape togehter to the best outfit according to my physique and age, now is really fun and i know i most of the time look pretty than only tall and big.

so it depends where you live but most important how you arrange, your shape ,your curves padding etc, and the makeup level you skill.

the walking and postures the voice, the jewelry etc counts one thing wrong will give you away, but certainly is not the height nor the shoes,
for the shoes i am 10 us, fortunatelly my feet is not on the big avg, but also i try to avoid flashy and white colors on pumps or boots, it looks weird big shoe starting from 8usa, so imagine a size 11 or 12, most of my shoes are dark color and reds, my boots are also black or brown, the material prefer leather and sweathe it looks very natural classy elegant and sexy, i have one pair of 5.5 white pv spiky metal heel pumps and they look very big when using them with a skinny dress or skirt showing legs, so i bettter avoid it. those are to cosplay.

Lately in USA the ladies are big tall and heavy with all respect but true, and is getting this fenomenon more and more, as a sugestion is product from the excess of consuming softdrinks, bread that is not bread and most of the processed food, together with the size of the portions at the restaurants, is a pitty that most people feel that need to eat all the portion served at applebees or carrabas when is actuall a family portion, then getting used to that make more hungry after an hor or so and is an endless bad habit, actually is difficult to find large sizes now, "L" so i thing is a plus to all cd and tv that we dont look off from the avg.

bottom line if you ara tall is not a problem problem is if your wear something thatdoesnt fits you well according to the size, age or phisique. and the level of how you arrange your makeup hair, outfit etc, movements etc

Out of curiosity I measured myself the other day. Measuring yourself isn't necessarily the most accurate way of doing it but oh well. Anyway, I used to be 5' 10" (1.78m), but now am about 5'9" (1.75m). Probably due to "old age" more than anything else (I am 44).

Veronica,

Yes. You have experienced the same things like me. A lot of people ask me for directions, and some of them even honk at me in their cars. I am really tired of it.

I am 183 cm (6 feet tall), with usually US size 10 feet (264 mm). In crowded city like Seoul, I can see some women as tall as me, because nowadays the average height of young people here becomes taller and taller. But, at my home town, an island, people tend to be shorter compared with the mainland people, making me look more striking. However, I can see a few tall college girls at my campus.

Whether I am in my country or in Germany, people pay attention me. Other factors other than my height do matter. For example, wierd clothes that do not match with the weater there. When I visited Hamburg, Germany, in April 2011, the weather there suddenly became colder, and I found that I alone wore short pants.

Here is a study on height loss that I ran across recently.
Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging
Studies have been done in the past on typical loss of height but results I've seen vary. A recent study revealed the following: "To determine the magnitude of height loss that accompanies aging, longitudinal studies are required. The authors studied 2,084 men and women aged 17-94 years enrolled from 1958 to 1993 in the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging, Baltimore, Maryland. On average, men's height was measured nine times during 15 years and women's height five times during 9 years. The rate of decrease in height was greater for women than for men. For both sexes, height loss began at about age 30 years and accelerated with increasing age. Cumulative height loss from age 30 to 70 years averaged about 3 cm (1.18 inches) for men and 5 cm (1.97 inch) for women; by age 80 years, it increased to 5 cm for men (1.97 inch) and 8 cm (3.15 inches) for women"

Another study which covered a 20-year period of nearly 8000 men showed men lost on average 0.66 inches (1.67cm), with samples in the initial age range being 40-59 and final height 20 years later taken when they are 60-79.

This is not conclusive but I do believe that hrt does effect our height.

I have been on HRT for 2 years, 3 months.

I am 5'11 and 180 lbs, size 11 (womens) feet, and my feet are too wide.  I'm slim and do not have an ounce of fat on me except for a little in the butt and thighs, and my girls.  I don't understand why I weigh so much, it's frustrating.  Maybe I have heavy bones and muscles, I don't know.  My friends tell me I do not have a particularly masculine build, but I am a former multi-sport athlete and still have residual excess muscle mass.   My girls are a smallish C cup.  My measurements are 38 - 32 - 36, and my larger waist measurement is from a 6 pack that refuses to go away, despite the fact that my estrogen levels have been very high in the female range for a long time, and my testosterone levels have been in the normal female range for a long time also.  My upper body muscle is gone, but my arms are still way too big.

Anyone know how to get rid of muscle?

Another problem I have is that I am physically attracted to men, especially men who are taller and stronger :(  than me and I am taller than many men and almost all of the guys that hit on me are shorter than me.  A man's looks aren't everything to me by any means, but I really can't help what I am basically physically attracted to, and taller men do it for me.

sigh

My starting point: 5'9, size 10 converse shoes (which is supposedly unisex sizing last time I checked) and I have medium men's gloves

I do wish I was a bit shorter, but if only one of these 3 things changes I'd go for foot size.. which appears to be the most common difference too

Yes. Although most of my colleagues at my work place have visited Paris, I have not yet. I heard that there are so many fashionable ladies there, and wish to visit very soon, preferably in summer.

Barbie~~

Unfortunately, apart from some nice photos, I was very disappointed with Paris.  I had a wonderful time in the other cites of my trip.  I guess there wasn't really much to do after a few days of walking around in Paris.  Which reminds me, the fashionable ladies, and I mean the ones that walk outside with their perfect hair, make-up, dresses and shoes were found all over Rome, Florence and Milan :)  The length they'd go to even step outside for coffee ;)  Bless them :)

I'm probably around 5' 10.5"...and I tend to wear lower heels because I worry about being too tall.    :-\

Seeing them biking in 6inch stilettos in Florence was pretty awesome. Those ladies are hardcore.

I come in at 5'8". And in my state that's about an average girls height.

Something the pacific NW puts in the water /sarcasm.

I hope it is true that its possible to shrink from hrt.  I'm happy with my height, but it still bothers me that there are still many shorter women than me where I live.  Its like they are mostly petite size at around 5'-5'2" or so.

And I'm pretty short at less than 5'4, so maybe I'll end up at 5'1" or so?  Also I'm happy to have lost some weight(muscle mass).   The scale says I have.t shed a pound, but I surely have.

I'm currently 147lbs but looks more like about 120 lbs or so.  People never believe me when I tell them how much I weigh!

Girls,
I'm 5'4", I love my height the way it is ;) . I don't like HRT dropping it, hopefully won't lose much! I wear size 6 shoes, and weigh around 120 lbs. I bought 3 lovely shoes last week.

I'm 5'9" really tall for a female in Scotland so there's no point trying to hide it I'm tall and I love heels I don't have to worry about making men feel uncomfortable I only like women so no point in limiting myself for their benefit, besides with legs and a bum as good as mine it would be a shame not to wear them

I'm currently 5'9". Could be worse I guess, but also pre HRT and hoping to lose a little if possible. Same with shoe size, currently at around 11 wide though tend to end up in 12 men due to the wide part. Hoping for some help there as well. I know effects are random per person though so I'm not counting on either of those. Amazingly even being overweight my hands and arms aren't overly male. At least in my opinion.

Cindy

Haha I dont agree with the tall guys like tall girls part... All my boyfriends have been 6 "2+
And all the men that have pursued me, and if theres one thing they all said in common is that they love small petite girls.

6ft 1in.. Was 6/3 3-4 years ago. I am not sure if I can be shorter but if its possible give it to me :D .

HRT DOES NOT DECREASE HEIGHT LMAO

I'm approximately 1.95 meters (or about 6ft 5in), long slim bones, small feet and hands.

That is what you get from a life long low T: You just keep growing vertical and not much more then that. So I'm rather tall with a rather thin frame (and currently very overweight). Mywrist circumference about 7 inches right now and I think it would be less then 6 inches when I'm on my goal weight?

Should I transition then it has to be near perfect because there is no way I will ever be able to hide anywhere?
And finding clothes will forever be a problem.

Yes it does....by means of autosuggestion that is...;-)

Reading these stories about 'decreasing in height' AND/OR 'shrinking feet/smaller shoesize' when on hormones make me laugh too :-)

But yes, 'decreased height' when on hormones can mean  (severe!) osteoporosis and alas: your shoesize will increase with age.

All people's feet will 'stretch' with age because you're standing on them, walking on them...with your full weight, doesn't matter if you're under or overweight or having a normal weight: they will stretch to at least 1 size bigger over the years.

You're right. This happens too when very young pre adolescent MTF go on 'anti puberty' hormones.

They grow unusually tall (and thin) like the 18/19th century pre puberty castrated singers did after castration/cessation of testosterone.

On a side note: 'anti puberty' hormones use on very young MTF doesn't always mean their faces will automatically become as feminine as cisgirls; developing a wide jaw, chin and/or a masculine, sloping forehead is a matter of genetics that can't be stopped by using 'anti puberty' hormones in time.

I'm 5'9, and a size 12 shoe size.  It's on the upper end of the scale, but I've definitely known plenty of cis women with the same dimensions.  The downside is I really have to buy all of my shoes on Zappos.  The upside is, there's a Zappos.

I am 5'10'' now and I was 5'10'' almost 30 years ago when I had SRS while in my early 20s. I started estrogen on and off since I was 15 years old as supply permitted.  3 years prior to SRS I was on HRT full time and have never quit.  I ditto some in this thread, that it seems extremely improbable that ones height would change as a result of HRT.

As far as height, I think you draw more negative attention by trying to hide it and less if carry yourself proudly.  Easier said than done, but it can be done.

5' 5" --same as I was 8 years ago before hormones and transition.  While height has some bearing on passing, a multitude of factors come into play including body shape, weight distribution, etc.  None of this matters as much as how you walk and carry yourself.  I'm sure it's already been mentioned but HRT and transition have NO effect upon height.

I'm 5'5 too. For me though it's annoying because most of my friends are under 5 foot. I end up feeling like a giant even though we wear the same clothing size. That's why I like surrounding myself with men that are built like lumberjacks and 6'6 tall haha.
