Title: Any other trans women (or trans men) comfortable with being "bigger?"

I'm 5'7", 220 pounds- I work out 6 times a week, and I've lost about 35 pounds over the last year. I'd be pleased to get down to about 200, but my goals are more related to being in better health than becoming "skinny." Frankly, I've always been attracted to "curvy" women, and I have no problem with the idea of becoming one myself.
It seems like, relatively speaking, curvacious trans women are far less visible than thin ones. Is there anyone else out there (MTF or FTM) who isn't aiming for "thin" as their body shaping goal? As usual, I'm just looking for reassurance that I'm not totally ->-bleeped-<-ing weird :)

For me fat is purely a health issue. I have a family history that means I should try and keep my Colesteraol down, and therefore trying to be a bit on the thin side is important. I really wish it were otherwise as I would like to have my curves a lot more prominent.

Exactly- I don't want to be in poor health. I just don't feel like I need to get down to 160 pounds before I transition or anything.

I am 188cm/ 6'2" and 92 kg/200 lb. I could do with losing a few pounds around the midriff, and am old enough to remember pre-metric measures.

In my "neck of the woods," Northern Virginia, very few women my age are skinny, about 1/2 are obese, 1/3 are overweight, and the rest are "pudgy." So, being a little bit pudgy helps you fit in the crowd, so to speak.
The ideal wight for my height 5 10 1/2 is about 180 lb, so currently I am 14 lb over the ideal. I am in a carb reduced diet of 4-5 meals each 350-400 cal, and some cardio exercise every other day.

I'm 5'9 and due to years of fitness training have a quite athletic appearance. But I would not really consider it as "big" or "bulky", I just look quite fit with a V-shape upper body and trained glutes. :D

Quote from: aibeecee on July 13, 2012, 01:47:39 PMIm roughly the same, although my thighs are like tree trunks :( My upper body muscles have certainly receded with the HRT and with me doing much less weight training, but I can't seem to shift the muscles on my legs.

But I'd rather be curvy than unhealthily skinny. To me, its what I consider to be more feminine.

Muscles in the thighs are fine as long as they have a layer of feminising fat.
I'm 5'9" and used to be 153 lbs. That's the lowest I'd ever go. I risk losing feminising fat going any lower. I'm now 160 lbs due to lower body weight training. I'm currently stuck at a plateau and having trouble putting on any more muscle in the lower body and butt. Me putting on weight via fat is counterproductive to a curvy shape. I just put it on my waist. It's a dilemma. I may have to put weight on and then get my surgeon to literally redistribute the fat to the "right" places. I'd love to be "bigger" but bigger in the "right" way.

5' 10", 158 lbs. I have been down to 135 and I loved it, but I did look too thin. I don't like that I am getting a belly back, but maybe I can get down to 145.

Quote from: Felicitá on July 13, 2012, 06:30:16 PM:) Thanks for the optimism! I was playing a high level of sport for a quite long time until I decided to drop it all and go to university; but my legs are still massive! I've been on a regime of cannabalizing my muscles with lots of cardio and little recovery/fuel which is helping somewhat, but its still slow going.

Oh and the way it redistributes is annoying isnt it?! My uper body is ok, but whenever I overeat, it immediately goes to my stomach!

I second that. :)
