Title: So here I am :-)
Post by: ThatsNotMyName on July 16, 2012, 02:19:22 AM
Brand new here and figured I'd introduce myself. I'm here mostly because I have nobody I can talk to about these issues yet in my everyday life so I decided to hop online and find a place where I could. I'm a 22 year old biological male and I am just now finally starting to explore my gender identity issues. I don't really want to use my real name so for now you all can call me K. Since I was 4 or 5 I have had deep seated issues with identifying as male in any sense, not sure why (that's what I want to figure out) but I have just always felt deeply feminine and very identified with females. It just feels natural to me, I don't necessarily hate my body but I don't identify with it and I don't like the most masculine things about my body (body & facial hair, etc.) and that's the story of my gender issues in a nutshell. I am wanting to pursue therapy and see if transitioning is the best option for me but honestly even if it is I haven't a clue how to begin making that happen but I'll figure it out I'm sure...I always do. My family has had such a hard time even accepting that I am into guys and I have no idea how they would take it if that were to happen so that is a major obstacle for me. Anyways, I won't ramble on about my life all day but I do hope to get to know at least some of you better here.

*huggles K tight and hands a brownie*

^-^ You have already took the biggest step =3 Which is what I need to remind myself of more often (horrible hypocrite I am)

No matter what road you come to you will be a better person as long as you learn more about yourself in the process, hope everyone here can help you as much as they have helped me! =]

Hi K

Another Aussie Hello :eusa_dance:

We all come to the understanding of ourselves slowly and with the inevitability of  life.

As you said talking to a therapist is a good step. If your family is accepting of you liking guys I don't think they are going to have much problem with accepting you, as you.

So sit down and join on in. The more you put in the more you gain.

Welcome

Cindy

Aussie hello #3 , and welcome.  Lots of good friends and good info here.

There are lots of stops along the transition path, and no reason you can't do a U-turn at times too.  It is something we do for ourselves alone, and no-one else has any right to tell us what path to take.

Karen.

Hi K, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 7536  strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FAnimals%2Fferret-3.gif&hash=f49e2f86761323f2abd9c33941920389dbb3b10f)

Hi K,

Well the count has started. I'm No.4 to give you a big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. Your feelings about your upbringing are so common to our community here, it appears to be very normal.

I'm pleased you are prepared to look behind the veil and find the real you. Having said that, you may not realise the expanse and depth of this new found territory bring with it. You'd now commenced a lifelong journey of discovery, liberation and joy second to none. Sit back, strap yourself in and look forward to a lifetime of opportunity and experiences only dreamed of.

I look forward to hearing more about you in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

"They call me Devlyn, they call me Tracey, they call me her, they call me Jane. That's not my name! That's not my name! That's not my name! That's not my.....name!" Welcome to Susans! My apologies to The Ting Tings. Hugs, Devlyn
