Title: Pausing HRT?
Post by: Cen on July 16, 2012, 10:24:54 PM
So, I don't know about getting into the details at the moment, but I've gone off HRT for a week now, after 8.5 months on it.  I was thinking I'd really like a break from it for 3-4 months to sort through some problems going on in my life.  I may never start it again, honestly.  However, if I do want to go back on it after a break like that, does anyone know if it would harm my overall breast development potential negatively?

I'll likely ask my doctor soon, but I haven't informed her I stopped yet.

hi,  you might loose some of your breast development, but for the most part they are there to stay.  I have been on and off in the past and to me it seemed that growth was actually accelerated when I went back on E.
Good luck with whatever it is you are working out.

Hi Cori,

Good to hear you are taking charge of your own future. For your wellbeing, it might be an idea just to let your Dr. know you've stopped. He may want you to do it in a way that may make it a bit safer for you.

I have heard it from others, that when they stopped their medication, there was a growth spurt. It's really all quite individual. What happens to one may not happen to another.

Hope all goes well with whatever you are sorting through. Just remember we are here for you, if you want a sounding board or just want to rant. You chose us as your family, and we don't bite.

Keep in touch and let us know how you are coping.

Be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

You're aware that once you stop barely 2 months afterward you'll look like a dude again right?
