Title: An Introduction Of Sorts!

Hello everybody!
I'm 29 years old and just recently started coming to terms with being transgendered. It feels good to finally accept this part of me instead of trying to bury it, though now I regret not coming out sooner (I knew since I was a very little kid and was even put into therapy at a young age but refused to talk about it). It's sad to feel like at 29 that too much time has past, I hope it hasn't!
At the same time this has been extra tough because I only just recently got married and my new wife is understandably not keen on this and has forebode any steps towards transitioning. I've been seeing a therapist but not a gender therapist and I really have no idea how to find one in my area (I live in Las Vegas). Does anyone have any suggestions (Google hasn't been a lot of help to me in that regard, or maybe I'm just bad at Googling).
Anyway, I'm looking forward to being a part of this community!

Hi Voices, :icon_wave:
Welcome to our little family. Over 7579 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.
Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.
But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FAnimals%2Fferret-3.gif&hash=f49e2f86761323f2abd9c33941920389dbb3b10f)

Hi VOC,
A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. I'm proud of you for having made that decision to deny denial. How liberating it can be. It's a hare place for you to be with your relatively new marriage. I hope you are able to develop an open communication channel between yourselves in order to work through this process. Not easy; but can be done. Ultimately there is a price we have to pay, for this journey. Nothing comes free. At the end of the day, it's all about YOU. Where do you want to be? and how do you want to get there?
As you are no doubt aware, this doesn't go away. But the good news is, even at the tender young age of 29, there is a lot of room for you to develop and grow into the person YOU want to/destined, to be.
Regarding gender therapists, there is a resources section here that is quite extensive. Have a look there and see if you can see a therapist in your local area.
I look forward to hearing more of your story i time to come, however in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine
