I'm new here. FtM. I go by Jay now and thinking of the name Matthew as my first name, so whatever name is fine by me. Though my account name is Commander Talos, I put two of my favorite video game characters together, haha okay long story with that. :P
I was born female but identify as male. I don't really know how to write this but I'll try my best.
I am living in southern California (born and raised here) and I am currently seeing a gender therapist. I've been seeing her since June 3rd 2012 or something like that. I have come out to all of my friends and my entire family. Except my grandparents and my dad.
My mom was great with everything at first but not anymore, she wants me out of the house if I plan to continue transitioning. So right now I'm stuck, I know I'm not giving up, I'm still going through the transition. I am 22, and I am desperately looking for a job haha, so yeah right now I'm just waiting for the T letter.
Though that's another problem of mine, I feel like my therapist is some kind of obstacle I need to get through and I feel as if I keep saying all the wrong things. I really need someone to talk to about the whole therapist process, so I'm not sure if I should start a new thread somewhere else or...?
Well anyway sorry it's all rambling and all over the place it just felt good to let some of it out. Thank you for reading and nice meeting you all :]

Welcome to our little family. Over 7604 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.
Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

Hi Matthew,
A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. Congratulations man for doing the hard stuff soooo early. You have done well and continue to do so amid the adversity you are faced with.
So far you have done a great job with your introduction. You are doing fine.
What's happened to your Mum is not unusual for everyone you "come out" to. Initial reactions, given time can turn around to the opposite. Basically people go through a grieving process over this type of thing. It's not like you've broken your leg, and parents want to naturally help you get better as they see you doing so; admitting to ->-bleeped-<- is exponentially harder for them to understand.
You have a wonderful winning attitude, of not giving up. That will only strengthen over time, making you a strong and resilient man.
Sometimes it's difficult finding a therapist you connect with. Maybe before you look at changing, challenge them by telling them you feel you are saying the wrong things. Put it back on them to sort out and see how that goes. If at the end of the day it doesn't improve, go with your heart, and change.
Thank you for being so open and honest. We appreciate the trust you have put into us. Keep intouch and let us know how you are coping. In the meantime, be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Welcome to Susan's. I'm newish here to. I was a member back in 2006-2008, and got a lot of great advise from some really great people here.
It took a couple years for my parents to come around and for my dad it was really hard. It went against all his beliefs. He has come around though and treats me like his daughter for the most part. There are some off days though.
But anyway, welcome and good luck to you!

Thank you all for the feedback :]
nyx, I can't really say much but even if you don't think your dad would care it's still nice to let him know anyway. I'm actually scared of my dad, that's why I haven't said much. But that's good about your mom :D, and yes hi to you also.
Thank you Janet, that is a lot of people :o Haha, and yes I will try to give advice as best as my young experiences will allow me haha
Hugs back Devlyn! I hope so c:
Catherine, thank you for those nice words. I can only hope my relationship with my mom will get better in time, but we've had a horrible relationship my whole life. But I can understand what she's well... I guess going through, we don't think the same and I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you I understand what you mean about my mom.
No problem, as I see it we all are going through some type of journey and it's always nice to have some help.
snow, yeah I can see peole here already giving me great advice and help, well I guess I can only give my mom (and dad when I tell him) time. Thank you, and good luck to you in whatever you do. :)
