Hi I'm just coming to the end of my beginning which started two years ago in less than a month I start full time as Hannah
I still can't do my hair or put on makeup and I'm going before I think I'm ready but I'll never be ready so I'm going to try to fly before I can walk never mind run
and all this while off my HRT for the next two months, fun huh.

Hello, Hannah. Welcome to Susan's Place, from southern California.
I watched part of an Olympic event from Scotland today.
For our new members:
Please be sure to review
Don't try to push things too fast. And I understand about the HRT thing. Had to go off HRT because of an unrelated health problem, and have not yet been cleared to resume. I was climbing the walls at first.

Hi Hannah,
A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. You are a true believer in the 'deep end' theory. Get thrown in the deep end of the pool where you either sink or swim. I'm inclined to believe that seeings you've got this far, you'll swim. You'll be amazed at how well you'll do. And just think of the beautiful landscape you'll see when you are flying, while most of us are still running. What a great philosophy you have.
I'm sure you'll do just fine. Keep in touch and let us know how you are coping, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Hey, welcome to Susans Hannah.
What part of Scotland are you from? I stay in Glasgow but please don't hold that against me ;)!
You're much braver than me but I suppose you gotta take the plunge eventually!

Hello
Jamie; Didn't get to see any of the Olympics yet besides its only football so no great loss, the opening ceremony will either be good.....or will break the record for most rotten weather at a summer event in the UK ever, But once I'm done with the fertility docs I'm going back on my little blue girl pills
Catherine; Thanks for your support nobodies noticed me the times I've been out dressed mostly because I'm lucky and I pass and/or people just don't pay attention or care, and I got really lucky in the looks genes anyway my first experience of being jeered at in the street was six weeks ago when a teenage boy shouted 'Are you a lesbian?' not bad considering I was in male work uniform at the time
Bexi; Don't worry I'm from Paisley so I have a real reason to be embarrassed ;D

Hi Hannah,
You're flying already girl.
And you are right about luck, particularly when you understand LUCK stands for Laboring Under Correct Knowledge. This will automatically qualify you to pass in public. However I tend to think most people are too pre occupied with themselves to notice or care that you are even in public.
I tried a little experiment a while ago. I went to a busy mall with a friend of mine and I asked her to walk several paces behind me and gauge the looks/reaction of anyone who deliberately looked at me. Without being conceited, more than 80% of the looks were in the class of "WOW, she looks alright. Dresses well and looks well cared for." The other 20% ranged between "Huh? I'm not really sure what she is, maybe over done to Now she can't be true." And there was the vast majority that didn't even see me. My friend was particularly fascinated by the double looks and smiles of the men who reacted. Talk about funny.
So in fact, the results tend to prove a theory of mine that a well dressed/presented TG woman will be looked upon as just that, a well presented woman, not our preconceived idea of "Oh my god!!! I've just been 'clocked'. "
But as for children/teenagers, they are super perceptive about their own self image, hence their 'radars' are always up looking for "How do I compare" with the rest of society, and when we appear on the scene they are able to immediately assess how well our confidence stands out. The more confident we are about our identity, the harder it is for them to 'clock' us. Pre schoolers are the exception.
Keep up you mighty effort. You are doing so well.
Be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs

Hi and welcome from the other end of the world. If I couldn't live in Tasmania I would prefer the West of Scotland.
Sounds like you are going to do alright. Makeup is a case of less is more in my opinion, one of my friends says I pass well because I use very little.
If anyone says anything, you can remind the men that a kilt is a dress! >:-)
Karen.

Hi Hannah, welcome from Boston! There you go, being from Boston takes the pressure off everyone else. Mack the knife, huh? What do you collect? My friend has a great bayonet collection. See you around, hugs, Devlyn

I have a woodcarving knife, four inch blade, Mora steel. It's stupidly sharp. I want to get a Fairbairn-Sykes (original) someday. Hugs, Devlyn

Wow more Scots on here than I imagined
In the interests of International Relations I'll provide a link to a suitable reference text for when we're writing things that look like complete gibberish
