A woman jailed for at least 14 years for the execution-style shooting of her grandfather has failed in her attempt to have her sentence reduced on the grounds that her transgender status made prison more onerous.
Ben Richard Clark has been known as Stephanie Elizabeth Clark since September last year, resulting in her being placed in protective custody in jail.
Clark sought leave to appeal against her conviction and sentence in the Court of Criminal Appeal. In a judgment handed down today, both applications were dismissed.
In August 2007, Clark was convicted and sentenced to a maximum 20 years' jail after pleading guilty to the murder of her grandfather, Ernest Richard "Dick" Clark two and a half years earlier.
Her father Michael Rex Clark was also convicted of murder after a jury trial.

Well the poor thing should of thought about consequences before she murder of her grandfather, even if it was a means to the end of his/her suffering at the hands of him....
Sorry I have no sympathy for people that go to jail for doing the wrong thing and use every reason they can think of to get out of it or try to reduce there sentence.....

This is an odd case. She murdered her grandfather and was given her sentence. She never proclaimed to be TG during her trial, it was never brought up as mitigating circumstance. the after two years in goal she is 'allowed' to live as female and then wants her sentence dismissed. Sounds a bit sus to me. She still killed the guy no matter what sex she is. That she should be allowed out of gaol because she has changed her sex and feels unsafe is just rorting IMO. She is safe in isolation and sometimes we have to look at the fact that we are responsible for our actions.

As an adult one has to be responsible for one's actions. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime as they say inside.
Or stiff s**t.
Or stiff s**t.

This is one of my recurring nightmares, which is why I never do anything wrong, never, nope, not me ;)
