Title: FTM Introduction
Post by: jonas42 on August 03, 2012, 01:12:33 AM
Hello everyone! My names Jonas. I have been stalking/ reading topics on this site for quite some time and I just joined today. I don't think I will post a lot, but I'll be here. Anyways, about me. I'm a Female to Male transgender/transsexual. I consider myself a gay male, but that doesn't stop all the people at school to ask me every other day if I'm a lesbian. (funny story: I was changing in the girls locker room (no choice, it was a bad year) and i was talking to one of my friends and then it was kind of required that I say that i'm a girl then one of my other friends that was there said "no, your a guy, you have a d*ck, your a guy" left me really confused. that was before I came out to myself.) I could have written that better but oh well....

I came out to my parents a few weeks ago to not bad but not good response. My dad hasn't talked to me about it but I don't think he minds. My mom keeps going out of her way to say "my daughter" and she really makes sure people hear the "s" in "she" and tells me that see will always see me as her daughter no matter what. I hope I can turn her around a bit. I still have three years or so living with my parents and until I turn eighteen, when I can start testosterone. Until then I have been trying to do as many odd jobs as possible so I can get top surgery when I'm still young.

Anyway, one of the things mentioned in the introduction description thingy was what makes the world special to me. I would probably not be alive right now if it wasn't for music. I can honestly say it saved my life, stopped me from jumping off a bridge or hanging myself or taking the entire medicine cabinet and putting it into my stomach. When I was questioning and confused and then denying I would always have a band to listen to that would calm me down. When my parents get into fights I listen to certain bands. I can map out all the stages of my life just by what bands and genres I listened to. What was hurting me the most was not knowing. Now that I know, I'm not hurting as much and my taste in music has calmed down a bit. It is kind of interesting to look at...

Anyways, hello everyone and I hope your all having a nice day/night/afternoon. :)

Hi Jonas, :icon_wave:
Welcome to our little family. Over 7722 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.
Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.
But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another brother (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FAnimals%2Fferret-3.gif&hash=f49e2f86761323f2abd9c33941920389dbb3b10f)

Hi Jonas ,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in and start talking.

Just remember when you are talking to your Mum, just keep it real simple. Start by reminding your Mum, this IS NOT a choice. It's a well documented MEDICAL disorder. She had NOTHING to do with it, YOU had nothing to do with it and your DAD had nothing to do with it. It's purely and simply a genetic/hormone thing. Nothing more, nothing less. NOBODY can fix it. It's just like any other birth defect.

Simple. Just takes the pressure off everyone. No one is at fault, no one to blame. THIS IS NOT A CHOICE!!! end statement.

Hope it goes well for you. Let us know how you are coping

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
