Title: Confidence, Confidence, CONFIDENCE!
Post by: Kristopher on August 07, 2012, 01:52:45 PM
Hello brothers and sisters, new to the forum and just scrolling around and this area of the forum really caught my attention as it is something I struggle with, but more importantly struggle with the fact that I struggle so much with it. I truly believe that in any situation the way you perceive and go about a situation truly affects and alters the outcome.

Public Restrooms: Passing 101
I don't know about you, but even if just a single soul misinterprets my gender it can throw my entire day off, sometimes even discounts an entire day of getting "sir'ed" or "he'd" (or perhaps in your case "ma'med" or she'd"). My confidence is crushed. Now I think this is where the personal dillema of a public restroom arises, the opportunity of a single soul crushing your confidence or giving you that wide eyed "WHY ARE YOU HERE?!" crushing glare. I know these feelings and emotions, because I lived them for so long. However, brothers and sisters, we cannot let the fears and un-knowing determine our own confidence.

The solution is as simple as this - walk into that restroom like YOU own it. Like you know you're supposed to be there. HAVE CONFIDENCE! Odds are nobody else in there is worried about what you are doing and don't even give you a second glance. You have just the same rights to be in there as anyone else. Your perception of yourself and your own air of confidence drastically will affect how others perceive you (and that goes for any situation).

As a TransMan: Don't walk into the restroom already with fear that your StP will somehow malfunction or that the guy in the urinal next to you is going to be gawking at your StP and say something, trust me most men are not going to be worried about what you have going on "down there" and if they are then take it as a compliment and move right along with your day.

Confidence goes a long ways in being accepted and comfortable in the men's room.  I use them regularly when I am out and have had no problems whatsoever.  I have even changed tampons in them with great care.  I am not using the urinal in them unless there is a complete partition between them which I have find in some of the nicer restrooms.  I am afraid that I will leak all over the place.  I have a medicine spoon type STP and practice all the time at home.  I am fine in the shower but using the fly in my jeans I continue to have problems.

Hey mm, thanks for the input! I find that the medicine spoons are difficult to use and for me something hard pressing against my genitals feels a bit invasive, i use the 'whiz packer'/funnel packer from the guys at Stand-To-Urimate  http://www.urimate.com (http://www.urimate.com/What-s-Up-.html) and have had some miner issues with it such as the rod that connect the tubing through the packer to the funnel to be awkwardly long and uncomfortable to wear under the clothes. Do you have any tips/suggestions on packing with your StP to make it more comfortable?

Most of the time i feel that wearing a packer is much more comfortable than the StP devices....at least all the ones i have had experience with.
