I pack because I can't really not pack, if you know what I mean. I feel naked without it. If you must pack, then you don't have much choice. But make sure you wash it regularly, powder it daily if you're going to sweat a lot, and have a backup packer. And don't wear it next to your skin if you can possibly help it.

Some guys have posted about underwear that works best for packers--something with a separate pouch so that you don't have the sticky thing right next to your sweaty skin. Most of the underwear they talked about was rather pricey, more like designer stuff--probably comparable in price to TranZwear, which I like. Apparently, TranZwear doesn't work for everyone.

One thread in particular talked about these other underwear brands, but I haven't been able to find it in a search.

I still haven't found the thread I was talking about, but these are on the right track.

This might be the thread I meant, but it's not as I remembered it. https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,113071.0.html (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,113071.0.html)

This could be it. https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,85092.0.html (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,85092.0.html)

I'll share my experiences with the Mr. Limpy.

First, I've had it since January (I believe) and I've been rough as hell with it, and there are barely any signs of wear. I'd bet money that I've got years ahead of me with this same packer if I so desired.

I wear it from the moment I get up to the time I go to bed. I wear it directly against my skin with my harness made out of two pieces of elastic.

First thing I do when I get up is shower. I take it in there with me and wash it with the bar soap I use on my body. I get out of the shower and dry it with my towel. It's the first thing I put on while I'm getting dressed.

I don't really ever use cornstarch on it, just once in a blue moon when I figure it's been awhile. afaik the only reason to powder it is to make it less sticky and more soft, but that doesn't really matter to me, and the stickiness isn't intolerable or anything.

After that I have the packer on my body right up until I turn in for the night. I take off the harness, and wrap the packer in the next clean pair of underwear I will be wearing tomorrow.

I used to have a very physical job too. I was a dishwasher. That meant nonstop walking back and forth, kneeling down, putting things up high, picking up and carrying around heavy tubs of dishes, taking out big garbage bins, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing stuff, getting dirty. I'd sweat, but the packer never irritated me and I almost never even felt it was there.

I've since moved up to being a cook but that experience has taught me that there's really nothing that comes up in my life that precludes wearing a packer.

Some people have more sensitive skin and are more affected by wearing a packer against bare skin, but I've been very laissez-faire about the whole thing and my packer is still in great condition.

Hope this helps you and anyone else who needs the info.
