Title: I haven't had to shave in 3 months... Woot!

After 2 years of laser and 1 year of electrolysis... I've nearly killed off all my facial hair. I have not have to touch a razor to my face in exactly 3 months. I'm down to 1-2 electro visits per month only. I still get a black hair that pops up every now and then (mostly on my neck) but I can safely say I'm happy. I freaked out when I started growing body hair and especially facial hair in my teens. Huge impact on me... not for the good. So it is a huge relief to have it all gone. It also was one of the worst things to have to do in the morning while my BF is in bed, and I was in the bathroom shaving... huge mind-screw and really messes with your psyche. Also, I don't have to get up an extra hour early every morning to shave and then wait for my skin to calm down before applying make-up. That sucked as well.
It took time, money, pain and more money but it was worth it. ;D

Congratulations! I'm only into 9 laser sessions, and feel I could skip every other day from shaving...but worried about my 5 o'clock shadow on the second day! Even so, that is a great feeling! I can't imagine going 3 months without shaving!!

Congratulations!!!!
Way to go, I'll bet that feels good! :-)
Say, how expensive was electrolysis, if I may ask? I am on day 10 after my third LHR session on my face, and the hairs are all shedding off. There are some grays on my neck though, I would like to get rid of and, aside from that, I do know that in a few weeks, unfortunately some hairs that were dormant on my last LHR session 10 days ago, will be in the active stage again, and they will be visible, bringing me into a state of depression again. It is very easy to get used to having no facial hair...
Anyway, I am indeed contemplating electrolysis.
Thanks in advance for any pointer and congratulations again on your hair free face!@

My electrologists charges $80/hr. I'd usually went for 1 hour per week. I had a lot of blond facial hair which was the most time consuming to get rid of. If you decide to go for electro make sure you find someone experienced, and for facial hair, go with the blend method as it has a higher kill rate and is more effective on facial hair.

I can't imagine how awesome that must feel! I'm so jealous! Congrats. I wanna cry every time I shave. I just hate it with such a passion. I've only had 1 laser treatment so far & I probably won't be able to get electro anytimesoon but if the laser can eliminate most of the hair on my face & the shadowing, I'd be ecstatic.

Thanks for your reply, and useful tips, Jenn!!
Say, how many hairs can your electrolysis tech get rid of in one hour, by and large?
Thanks again,
Andrea

My current electro tech is pretty fast. She can easily clear my face and neck in about 1 hour. Now I never could grow a full beard to begin with, but she's the fastest of the 4 I've been to. If I had to put a number on it, I'd say around 100-150 hairs per hour (best guess). Also it depends on the method the tech is using... Flash thermolysis is much faster, but the kill rate is only around 40% compared to the blend method which is closer to 90% for male facial hair. Nothing worse than having to have the same exact hair zapped twice in order to permanently kill it.

80$ an hour? Is that a good price? What part of the country do you live in, if I may ask?
Thanks!
Andrea
Thanks!

I think it's a little on the high side. There was another electrologist I used to go to and she only charged me $70 because she knew I would be coming once per week, and therefore she would be making a fair bit of money off of me. $60-$80 per hour seems to be the going rate.
PS: I live in Miami, FL. Stuff overall tends to cost more here.
