Well i came home on sunday after having chest surgery on thursday and ive just had the final drain taken out. Now i can really get a sense of what my chest is going to look and feel like and i'm really over the moon. I'm slightly gutted that i still need to wear an xl t shirt- maybe it was my stomach to blame after all. But everything seems to be healing quite well, in fact it only occasionally feels like i've had any surgery. I have to go back next tuesday for my dressings to be changed at which point i should get some idea of what my chest really looks like now,

Big thumbs up lad! :)
XL shirt just gives you an excuse to hit the gym once you have healed up properly. double :)

Great! Im glad to hear that things seem to be coming along well (more importantly, Im happy to hear that the surgery went ahead on the date you thought it would) :)
I found having the drains out to be the closest thing to discomfort, during chest surgery, so thats good that youve gotten yours out now!
I hope things go well next Tuesday, and that you appreciate having your chest unbandaged, even more than you thought you would! :) I remember the first time I felt the breeze on my chest, it was amazing.

Its them taking the sticky stuff off that i'm dreading cos i'm a wuss! I have noticed that my left side is swelling more than the right but i'm not panicking about it yet- i figure there is bruising and all sorts happening and hopefully it will sort itself out?
