Title: HIPS!

So almost four months into HRT and I'm starting to see some changes here and there, however it's been in the oddest ways that I noticed them. I was clothes shopping and noticed that the guy pants i was trying on didn't quite fit right. So now I'm looking at how my jeans have been fitting because I have had some rather odd occurrences of getting cat calls over the past few weeks.. totally in boy mode, but I realized that my clothes are fitting.. well girly.. Example jeans that used to slip right down without a belt are now starting to sit lower and stop on something mysterious... HIPS! So how long until things really start "bumping out?"

You got lucky, Gurl....some of us never see hips once past puberty. :(
:) <--smiling for you!
And only 4 months into HRT?! Ok, now I'm *so* jealous!

I do think that being Puerto Rican may actually help me a little. Hopefully my heritage will be kind to me with HRT.

I'm half-convinced that I'm immune to hormones, sometimes.
Congratulations on the hips. Timeframes are impossible to predict, as everything is so individualized, but hopefully things will continue to work in your favour for the months or years to come.

Over 2 years of hrt, measurements went as follow:
Right before hrt: Weight ~125lbs, waist 28" hips 28"
2 years into it: Weight ~115lbs, waist 25", hips 32"
hrt can really do something... it just took a long time for me

I'm hoping those don't get too out of control for me. Since I ran a lot I had some pretty beefy legs, since I started HRT though I haven't ran, just kept to hiking and walks to help shrink the legs down a little.

While I've always had big girlie hips and butt, my ass is getting more on the boney side, finally. The down side is loosing that natural padding which comes in handy when having to sit for long periods on hard surfaces.

Dunno if this is good but i have 38" hips, 32" waist and 33" underbust atm.
I used to be 37" 28" 32" before transition and some weight gain.
Im still waiting for fat on my hips, they are all bone. I have pictures of myself, and i had the same look as a girl.
I don't get why i was like that, but im not complaining.

I'm slightly out of shape at the moment but my measurements are 40 - 33 - 39 (top to bottom). I have no idea what I was before transition except when I first started buying clothes I wore size 0 jeans. Hormones only did so much, fat-transfer and BAS contributed.

YES PLEASE!!!!
39" - 36" - 39"(band under boobs) 43" over boobs = B+ cup
Hip - waist - chest
All taken today with tape measure: 23/8/12...
Hips = 'over ass' i.e. the biggest bump, yes?
So the MAIN issue I see now is my waist being some 4 - 5" too FAT, eish!!!

I was a 44 chest and a 38 inch waist before i started. Diet and exercise and good genetics i guess. My hips and butt were the first to show up to the party.

Ok im sooo happy I just measured myself! I think I started somewhere like 27 waist and 29 hips. This was when I was 119 pounds. ok, I did gain quite a bit of weight (im going to try to get to 125 again, 128) BUT my measurement are now 29 waist and 35 HIPS. 35!!! I weight about 133-135. Maybe my weight gain had something to do with it? because I had this weird plan, where Id practically get to an anorexic weight, and then eat a whole bunch for it to go to more female areas (the new fat deposits.) Judging by my results, I guess it worked! I was thinking of doing this all again but I like not starving myself lol, im just going to eat healthy and maybe shed an inch or two off my waist. A lot of weight still went right to my midsection unfortunately. But I have measurements to prove my gains, im so happy! This is 6 months of HRT. woohoo!!!
I was tryin' for the same thing, right before HRT I was working out like crazy because I wanted to try and drop down to my lowest possible boy weight so that anything that came back would be in the female areas. And I have noticed a bit more padding in the but, the

Well sweetie, if you have a 39" ass like I have, and never mind waist now, I spoke about it, and your band size is also about 38 - 39" what would be your complaint I may ask?
The only complaint THAN would be a lack of WAIST... not HIPS... right? Right.

Darn it, I knew it, I should have lost more weight before starting HRT... :-( At 5'9" and 165-170 I am way too fat and the fat distribution won't take on female proportions... :-( Should I stop HRT and lose more weight? How much should I weigh for my height to be super skinny?

I'm not saying I have hips, I am just saying I have the measurements that I posted earlier in this thread. Posting pic in Avatar thing.
I am still uncomfortable with what I look like, especially in photos. I really hate photos. Fortunately I can imagine I look better the rest of the time or just put it out of my mind.

If you are referring to your own avatar I would have to disagree. You definitely have a feminine figure, not gorilla like at all. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between your body and that of a ciswoman from that picture.

Oh yes, the "ideal" .7 ratio.. I get the idea of it and all, but it's also a load of.. you know. If your ratio is .7 you might be on track, but it doesn't mean you're "ideal". You might prefer the narrow waist/wide hips look, and so a <.7 ratio would be more "ideal". It's all a matter of how you want to look. I adore tiny waists to wide hips, and so the ratios I favor typically are <.7. Someone else might prefer something else.
Doesn't the "ideal" ratio mean that it's what men tend to find most attractive on average? Because that leads to the question, what about those of who don't care about being attractive to men? I will definitely want validation and support from the important men in my life but I am attracted to women and the group of people whose respect I want is women. I don't need a .7 hip ratio for that.
(of course, being attractive to A man doesn't require any particular ratio either...)

Fat redistribution has given me some hips :)
I'm not quite as curvy as I'd like to be but the combination of the loss of muscle mass and development of boobs has given me a fairly feminine shape and not to brag, but I feel that I have a fairly good shape compared to most cis women of my age :)
I just wish I could lose a little more of this belly :P

I agree with Maid of Orleans! it's pretty damn good! it seems to be working on you going by the pic. I'm envious of you! the best so far! your whole body is the right rounded physical female fat distribution and your body doesn't look male at all!
I guess your success is your inherited genetics? also what meds are you on?
I was standing in front of a mirror, about two and a half feet from the mirror when I took the pic. The camera is just below my butt. So there is a chance my hips look a little bigger because they are closer to the camera lens? Not sure how mirrors work or if that is a factor but thought it was worth mentioning.
Yes, because I transitioned late it is likely that it is mostly genetics however I did have a fat transfer performed by Dr. Pat in Thailand a couple of years ago (I think he just tried to make my butt rounder). Not sure how much difference it made. As far as HRT I probably take less than most people, normally I take .625 Premarin once a day but about a month ago I began taking two a day. I doubt my body has changed any.
I had SRS in 2004 and have been on various dosages of estrogen and progesterone for about 12 years now.
PS, thank you for the comments, nice to hear. ^_^

Well, so far it's you that wins the hips/waist 'price' - for me.
I have taken quite some photos with my cell, in my own setting... it all sucks and I cannot really see what I'm doing.
But as I said, this far you win the price for the under 60s! maybe under 50s also, actually I'd be little surprised :)
Now! Anyone that is willing to come out OVER 60! As myself (66) and only 2 years on HRT --- before I suggest I win the Paul Bunyan price? Or was that 'Paula'... :)
Axélle
PS: so much for 39" bottoms...
PPS: I guess I'll need surgery to improve any of this... had a quote for tummy tuck (Lipectomy) Thai Baht 220'000 US$ 7'000.00 .... anyone?

I've always had huge hips even before hrt. I got my mom's side of a more curvy body, which would be horrible looking if I wasn't transsexual lol. But my hips measure 39" but my waist is 24 so you can see why I don't like them =p. But to be honest it's a part of feeling womanly when you have hips or boobs. Just my two cents =)

If you ask me, 39" bottom is no big deal. A size 36 (UK) - BUT a 24" waist sure is!
24/39 = an almost unbelievable 0.61 factor...
Just saying,

I'll post a little update...I lover wearing capris, but I have one pair I haven't worn, because they apparently are "hip hugger" types where one needs to have hips or else they'll fall down. Didn't like the idea of constantly pulling them up, so never wore them.
Here it is about 6 months+ on HRT, and I can wear them! They still slide down a bit, but not enough to flash ass-crack, so I am ok with it...but the fact they don't slide OFF over time is pretty awesome!
Hips? Maybe...more likely a little fatter in the upper thighs, but hey I'll take it!
:)

39 inch hips on a 24 inch waist? Wow. I know a cis woman who has 37-24-38 measurements (she runs an amazing blog about bra fitting and clothing, Thin and Curvy-I strongly recommend everyone who wears a bra to read her blog), but I always figured that a trans woman couldn't have measurements like that because of skeletal issues. You got some curves right there.

I'm hopeful about getting some hip fat but not delusional...
Pre-HRT my waist/hips were 27-28"/35-36" and it's about the same right now 3ish months in. But my only real changes have been breast growth so far anyway. I never had a problem with hips wearing pants and stuff but embarrassingly I can have some slight problems filling out the butt ::)
Actually my only real problem with my hips is the hip contour... the fat there is pretty even but I have a wide pelvis so the contour from waist to hips has like... a big valley where jeans sit. I really hope that will fill out.

Sure 24-39 are crazy measurements I would like to see.
I've just started HRT and I've got 34.25/32.25/40.35. Still 20 pounds to lose.
