I'd write that you want to change your name as you now socially present as a male.

The NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages has a change of sex form, so it's nothing they haven't seen before.

^ This.  If you're living in NSW, that's the main bit of paperwork you need to push through.  I can't quite remember what other documentation you need, as it's been a while.

Hi Justin,

If you want to be uber techo about it; you could state you've been identified as having GID and now wish to transition to your preferred gender.

Enjoy the experience.

The way I saw it when I changed mine was they had to see my ID and residency documents that clearly had a female name on them - so I just put "transitioning from female to male" - no questions were asked.

Same here. Figured there's less chance of a rejection if you tag it with "trans".
