Hi, I'm DI. At 60 I have finally decided to start the transition. I have top surgery scheduled for Jan 22 2013. My family doctor is going to start my T shortly. I have been married for 30 years, together for 31 and my husband is very supportive of my transition. He knows how much turmoil and pain I have gone through ever since I was a little one and suspected I wasn't the gender everyone treated me as. As my mom said when I told her and my sister that I finally figured out why I had felt the way I did all my life.... 'you always wanted to be a boy..'. I told her, 'mom, I always WAS a boy'. My mom does not know of the transition yet, but my sister is totally supportive. Just a quick question.. how do I get a ticker for pre-surgery, post T, etc. I went on their site and couldn't find the ones I wanted.

Save it to your computer. You will need 12 more posts to be able to add it to your profile. Don't worry, you will get there quick.

Hi Di ,
A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.
There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in and start talking.
You have a very special husband, very understanding and compassionate. You are indeed a lucky man. Hope your surgery goes well and that you recover quickly. Fancy no housework for a few months
Embrace the journey you are about to commence with 'T'. It'll be a real eye opener.
Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine
