Title: Prepubescent adult

This may sound like a weird question, but...
Does anyone else feel like they aren't properly an adult because they haven't been through the right puberty yet? I feel like I'm in this weird, Peter Pan like limbo where I've spent the past several years waiting to grow up. Intellectually, I know I've grown up and I know I've gone through puberty, but it just feels so surreal. Is that normal for someone my age?

I don't know about normal, but I'm about twice your age, and I've never really felt grown up.

Yes.
Though I suspect this is partially due to my CAFAB status. When I'm read as male, I'm read as a prepubescent boy.

Oh God, yes. Feeling grown up is actually the main thing I'm hoping to get from T. I'm 37, but mentally that just doesn't seem right. How can I be this old if I don't have my adult body yet? ???
In my case, finally being able to dress like an adult man should help too. I've always hated women's clothes, so I just wear a t-shirt, baseball cap, and either jeans or shorts, depending on the weather. Makes me look and feel like a 14-year old, though. Can't wait to buy my first suit and tie.

Whoops this topic is old, but I've been off for a while so I'll reply regardless:
I'm a bit ambiguous on the matter, yeah, I feel like I lack some sort of, dunno, natural maturity or something, but then I don't think it's all that desireable to be a... proper adult. So even if I gather all sorts of skills, mindsets and general tools to be a functioning adult lifeform, I'll be more than happy to keep loads of "childish" traits because actually, life's not all the serious.
Actually at the moment, looking a good 10-12 years younger than my age is a huge advantage, because I can get away with a lot more foolish bull->-bleeped-<- than I'm supposed to in my place in life ;D And i take FULL advantage of that, kinda catch up on my pathetic teen years...
From my experiences this is a feeling that many of my peers share, if maybe for different reasons, but I'm happy that for once it's something that doesn't only descends from my, ahem, little problem.

I feel that way because I still don't really know what being an adult is suppose to be.

Yeah I have the same feeling, especially lately. I feel I haven't gone through my real puberty yet, and as androgyne-identified I don't even really know what that means, puberty-wise. I feel like I'm really not independent from my parents yet, and I need some kind of a process to get there and be myself. I always hated the idea of growing up as a kid, but I still feel like I am that kid and just about 13 or 14. Maybe it really was the wrong puberty for me, and that's why it doesn't feel like it has happened.

I feel wierd of my age.
i'm on T but I do follow what you mean. when I transitioned I where 18, I didnt really had much typical tenneger life before so there I started to be more in my teen years to party and such like a 15 year old, yet still been told "your an adult now bla bla"
but then again I also been dealing with some serious mess due to being transgender which most 17-18-19 year olds dosent and it also make me behave more mature of my age.
so on the other hand people talk to me like.. "slow down, your still young, your not to do this or that" even when so tell me so, theres others who expect me to be this 40years old mode.
its like no matter what I do theyre not to be satified.. I guess I just have to be me.
