"Natasha Lauren Brown, 20, was born Charles Nicolas James Corcoran but decided to live and dress as a woman last year.

The gifted photography student had planned to undergo hormone therapy after changing her name.

But she became depressed following months of jibes from bullies. Once she was even knocked unconscious in a random attack."

I think its important that no matter how low we get, we do our best to seek something.  This story makes me wanna cry, people can be so cruel.

But I think its even more so important to say, suicide is never the answer.

This is why being able to defend yourself is very important, even if it means that the foe is eliminated. Thugs are nothing more than human garbage anyway.

My parents always taught me to defend myself as well.  They would of taught me the same way regardless of gender.

But sometimes you are just overpowered.

One of the main tenants of Kung Fu, you cannot take on overwhelming numbers or power like they do in the movies.  You need to use your brain, and sometimes that requires you running away.

Yeah, that is true. I knew this all too well because all of the bullies were too spineless to fight me one on one even though I was a "wuss" in their eyes. The adults are no better. I suppose in this case a small pistol would be a good idea (along with proper training, of course.)

remember depending on law carrying a gun doesn't mean you have a right to use it.  I can see a judge throw the book at a transgender person because we are already considered little devils by our religious society.

I think vigilance is more important, living in a city makes me keep my eye out.  If my intuition signals ring a ling I am out.
