I first was ticked me off reading it up to about page 98... than it slowly started to, hum, work on me... hum.  :o

I thought I had no libido left... how wrong can one be?

I read it last week and I regard it as more of an erotic comedy than 'mummy-porn'. I laughed my way through it. I regarded Anastasia as a total silly moo but she does improve. I have now bought the sequels and I am currently reading Fifty Shades Darker.

I only bought the first one. When I finished it I bought the other two books. I am about 1/3 of the way through book 2. Different because of what happens in the first book but Ana just surprised me. Good for her!

They told me at my writers group today that it's a re-writing of Twilight. Wow.

I've read it.. I thought it was fairly averagely written tripe.

I had to visit my mother in hospital a few weeks back. I think the whole female ward there entertained much of their stay pouring scorn and derision on the book!

Well I find it a fun read. Having read some other 'Chick-Lit' this is better than most.

It does improve as the plot develops. BTW I learned to fly in an L23 Blanik so I had some real belly laughs (if you do not understand that comment, you will later)

As it was explained to me, it wasn't just an interpretation by readers. That was the author's explicit intention--to rewrite Twilight as an adult BDSM-themed story. I heard something about a conversation between the authors about it in which the Twilight author was cool with it or something. Apparently Twilight has a lot of thinly-veiled BDSM elements to it.
