Title: Aggression a month into T

Hey, I've been on T for four weeks now. It's been great. The past several days I've had some anger and aggressiveness and unhappiness. I also just started my period and I notoriously was awful with moods just before hand. I'm hoping this will be my last one. Until now I've been really calm and mellow since starting T, my best friend said that out was a bit disconcerting how nothing got to me and every situation was just handled and I went back to being super mellow immediately. I also had this sense of well being that stayed with me all the time. I'm really unhappy with the abrupt and type oft change I'm having suddenly. I've yelled at people once a day the last three days, had anger outbursts where I'm basically acting five and having a pissed off temper tantrum and I had a really satisfying graphic fantasy about bashing a guys skull in with his dumbbells in the gym after he was moderatly rude to me. what do other guys do with your angry or aggressive feelings so they come out more reasonably? Thanks.

I got this BAD for the first couple months. I really did not know what to do about it. It's mellowed out since then, though, so you might be OK just giving it time.

I wish I could offer help, but I have been far less aggressive since I started transitioning. The T didn't change my aggression levels at all, which is apparently a pretty common side effect that I am glad I didn't get. Though, whenever I get irritated in general, I go for a jog or write. Try finding something physical or creative to do when you are feeling irritated maybe. Like I said, I can only guess, since I never experienced increased aggression.

Hopefully it's just the mixture of T and the hormone rush from getting your period. I had one a few days ago as well after about a month of T and I was so horrendously depressed and pissed off at the world much worse than my previous times of the month have been. It also hurt a hell of a lot more.

@Jaetyn, so after that time of the month did your depression and pissed off at the world go back to how you had been before when you first began T?
Thats what I'm hoping for but who knows I guess, my period hurts more than usual too.aside from being extra obnoxious.
@Ayden, I've been trying all the usual things that decreased my pre T anger or upset. They work fairly soon but I need a in. the moment sort of short circuit to the feelings to use as quick as possible.you know so I don't yell at people and have tantrums that freak my dogout and my neighbors can hear thru the thin walls.
@tvc15 your post is kind of hopeful but the idea I might be ok is dismal. I'm glad you moved past this place.
Thanks to you guys for responding.

Yep I'm fine now! Thankfully it was only a really short period. I really hope that was my last one. T on the whole has made me much more relaxed and stress-free.
For the moment the best advice I can give is just to walk away from whatever is making you angry. Get out of the situation and go and cool off before reacting to it.

I can understand getting on T and feeling and thinking like you are making such good progress and then getting a monthly mess and pain to deal with. I am looking to the time when I can start T and end having periods.

Testosterone is the hormone of phsyical, estrogen is the hormone of emotions. Obviously that is no scientific fact but in opinion testosterone creates the most physical changes while estrogen can control your mood.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if you get like that during your period due to the creation of more estrogen. Its like any fluctuation high or low can severely affect your mental well being.

Are you saying you can't imagine ever moving past this? Trust me dude. I thought the same thing. When I say I had it bad I mean it. It also took a couple months for my period to go away, so that could have compounded the factors as well. It seems really horrible and insurmountable but if I got over it, I'm positive you will too.
Its a huge change for your body. Frankly I'm surprised it's not more common for more extreme things to happen when people first begin transition. I don't hear about it much but just keep in mind what a big change this is for your endocrine system. It makes sense that sometimes these things happen.

everyone keeps saying that its hard, is there any documentation that talks about the process internally on HRT. I am really really curious!

Thanks everyone.
It was very clearly related to having a period. Hopefully I won't again. Three days in I went back to my usual on t self. Just need to be ready for the possibility of other periods to come. Thanks again.

same I was more agressive without T than on T, I belive its because I had more stress before T and as I started T I got more claim knowing my body where starting to work out in my way.
But I did feel Running where usefull being restless, horny, or angry, so my advice would be to run or generally do something physical. its also good for your health.

Actually, I think estrogen levels are at their lowest at the tail end of menstruation.
OP, my aggression levels spiked pretty bad the first couple months on T but have since leveled out somewhat. (I've been on T about six months) I'm still quicker to anger than I used to be, but it's not as bad. Honestly it feels about congruent to the crazy emotional flucuations of going through puberty the first time around. Just the last time was more crying. :D

I got this with my last periods, the intense mood swings, including some aggression. I think (pray, lol) that they are over now since it's been several months. All in all I am more calm on T with the exception of those times where I was literally bats* insane. :P

Well it tends to work in both ways xD, from what I have seen and heard. I still believe estrogen is the hormone of emotion.
Especially since our first and second puberties are reversed.
Your building up the great wall of testosterone, while estrogen broke down the great wall of Testosterone many months ago for me. Great wall is sort of an emotional block, easier to hide emotions. Less likely to cry in front of people.
