Title: Breast reduction and/or top surgery?
Post by: Sia on October 15, 2012, 09:29:53 AM
Hey guys, newbie here  :)

I've finally decided to start transitioning (yay!), and the first thing I'd like to do is get rid of my breasts, I can't stand them anymore. The thing is, I won't be able to get top surgery until at least a few years - not until I manage to move to another country, as here it's almost impossible for me to access it (not to mention very expensive, and not a single decent surgeon in the country).

So I've been looking into alternatives, and I think I could get a "standard" breast reduction that would be mostly covered by social security and my insurance. From what I've seen, the procedure is very similar to top surgery - they cut at about the same places, and resize/recenter the nipples if need be. If I ask them to remove as much stuff as possible I could be able to bind without pain, even maybe pass without the need to bind at all.
But, I'm worried that getting it would permanently prevent me from getting real top surgery later on for this very reason because of the scar tissues or whatnot.

Does anyone here have any informations or experiences about this situation? Did any of you guys got a breast reduction, can it be a decent alternative to top surgery, if no would it make the latter easier or impossible, etc.

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section (this place is huge!), and thank you for your time.

I went through the same.. My mom told me to do breast reduction instead of top surgery. But in my opinion i just wanna be flat haha. I didnt go through with either right now because.. financially i am not stable. Im thinkin even if ur insurance covers for it, i dont think they will cover the full surgery. So why put out that money for breast reduction when you can wait and get that flat chest you've always wanted. At least thats how i look at it. I have a D size.. And i hate it x_x especially with binding. But i rather just wait till i start T and then be able to get that top surgery.. Although it will take time x_x

Boba, are you able to bind so your D's are flatten?  I am fine in the cooler weather so I can wear heavier darker shirts.

At first.. it was hard x_x after 7 years of binding the tissues started to break so it makes binding with the underworks more easier than ever. I mean i cant get flat flat like a guy but decent enough to pass. maybe i can show u a picture.

You look great; I would call that flat as any guy.  I am in the B-C range and just starting to bind and can't get close to what you are.

the trick is.. once u put ur binder on. hold the side of the binder with one hand and push that side of the breast going towards ur armpit. when u hold the side of the binder u have to pull it up and then push the breast down and to the side. it will get flat from time to time
