Title: Too small for srs?
Post by: The Wagoneer on November 02, 2012, 07:45:46 PM
so im about to start hrt in the next week or so (was already suppose to but had to take a trip) and my wife and i were talking about everying involved with the changes that hrt cause and she brought up a couple very valid concerns. First off I'm 5'9-5'10 164lbs and in fairly decent health minus a few medial issues that have been fixed. And shes a big girl 6'2 170sh lbs. (biggest sweethart EVER)  But one the things she thought of as being a concern is that i would have enough "donor material" for srs. IM pretty tiny down there at only 2.75" when excited and im wondering if that is enough for them to work with when im ready for srs and on top of that possible shrinkage from hrt? how small could hrt make it?

also another thing we were wondering just out of curosity is that we've read that there is signifigant testical shrinkage from hrt. well again im very small in that department as well, each around the size of a grape. could the just dissapear with them already being so small?

There is some atrophy after being on HRT for awhile, I wouldn't let it get you down because some of these SRS surgeons are pretty innovative. Your best bet is to get an appointment with one and get what is known as a pre-op consultation. They will examine your genitalia and give you a head's up on what it would entail for a successful outcome.

I haven't looked at your stuff (and don't really want to xD), but I'd tend to say that maybe the total foreskin stuff is a bit larger than the actual length. Ya know, if you pull a little. There's that. Also, I'm not completely sure how, but I think depth can generally be a bit more than the original thingie's length. And well, I don't think even the smallest thingie can render SRS impossible. The worst you can have is not much depth. And since, the way I understand it, you intend to be with your wife, that shouldn't pose much of a problem under those circumstances.

Now if depth is a concern to you, it's always possible to use a skin graft (I think it's from the inside of the thigh) to add quite a bit of material. That probably isn't just as sensitive as just your genital skin, but I can't say. I do know though that results can be more than acceptable. It does leave an additional scar, but I'm pretty sure that's something that can eventually be taken care of, too, in the same surgeon's office.

As for testes... Yes, they shrink from HRT. A good 50 % at least, and for me at least, it happened fast. But that isn't necessarily an issue for SRS. The scrotum shrinks gradually because the stuff inside is smaller, yes. But the same way the vagina's size is maintained through dilation, you can prevent shrinkage with just pulling on the bag regularly. And even if you don't, seriously, I don't think the loss is that terrible.

And the penis... it does shrink, but nowhere as much as the testes. 25 % maybe? But the way I see it, that thing is designed to have loose skin around anyway, so there's room for erections. So technically, a shrinkage of the organ inside shouldn't make the skin shrink so much, right? And even then, probably the pulling method works here, too.

I have a TS friend who started her transition in the early 1990's. She is now so small down below you can't see anything. You can't see any sign of testicles and the pecker is extremely tiny. She isn't bothered about surgery and can wear swimwear and close fitting clothes without any problem at all.

They can do a piece of the sigmoid colon for extra depth, but otherwise what A said.

Naturally Blonde, that's kind of interesting - I never knew it could shrink to that extent - but on the other hand, I think most people won't be waiting for so long before getting SRS.

And well, I'm pretty much convinced the material can be saved with appropriate stretching. ^.^

Go to the various surgeons web sites and get it from them on what to expect. I have my date with Marci Bowers, and her technique actually uses the penile tissue differently than straight inversion, and uses scrotal tissue almost exclusively for vaginal depth, also there can be grafts from other sites, maybe one where you want to lose some extra skin. (bit of tummy tuck involved).  The doctors in Thailand use a variety of techniques to get you depth, and so on.  Check their sites out and have fun shopping.

I've been doing recreational stretching for 18 years. That has maintained much material. Regarding using the sigmoid colon. Easier said than done. It not only makes the surgery far more complex, it leaves you without muscle at the incision site and a distended abdomen. Nothing's touching my beautiful abdomen  :). Personally, I'm going to try to avoid that at all costs.

If you have foreskin, they can use that to create extra length, but if that's still not enough, they may use the scrotal flap technique as they did with me, so penile length isn't everything. In my case i got 4 inches length according to the surgeon, but i have had.sex with guys around five or 5.5 inches and had a good time :p

She doesn't want SRS, not everyone does. I have also been on HRT for 14 years and I can't get it to shrink much.  I'm not sure what her secret was but it was truly amazing how tiny her equipment got!

Like you friend I've shrunk at least two thirds, and when I'm cold or in the shower it's litterally a stub.  But  I took an awful lot of over the counter drugs through the years to create hormone imbalances, and those took a heavy toll on function and size.

From the medical stuff and journals I've looked at online it seems many transgender women have some issue before srs, and I think the few that are perfect before and after are somehow just lucky.  I want whatever I get, as long as it's a vagina, and it's sometime before my 65th birthday.

Those who choose an Orchiectomy many years before srs also have reduced scrotal tissue, and it seems that surgeons can deal with it.  So Vicky got it right, and a lot of us need to talk to the surgeons.  Me included.

I can absolutely relate to that.

I was born IS with micropenis, most probably linked to prenatal DES exposure.  After a decade of HRT, little if anything is visible anymore, and rather than the stub I started with, I usually have what can only be classified as a slight inversion of approx 1".    Nice during pre-op since I don't have to worry about swimwear or dressing/locker rooms, but final surgery will probably pose quite a few issues.
