Title: Christian Non Acceptance -- A Prayer

In my own church I am well accepted and in fact transitioned in my own parish over a year ago. I recently was informed by a family member that cousins who have been part of my life since I was a baby belong to a Christian denomination that will not accept me as I am and must be. A few days after I got that news, I was looking through some of my books for a prayer to address the feelings I had. I did not find any, but I wrote this one and will be using it as long as needed.
A Personal Prayer For Those Who Are Transgendered, Gay, Lesbian Or Bi Sexual Who Are Rejected By Their Fellow Christians
Gracious and loving God, you have given me the wisdom and peace to accept that I am different from your other children in body and spirit, and yet others who cry your name refuse to see me as one of your beloved ones as they feel themselves to be. I believe that you are capable of turning their hearts and minds and ask that You will guide their hearts to accept me as you created me, as you have brought my heart to that realization. In time, enable them to reconcile themselves to me, and give me the strength and resolve to hold out my heart to them until that day shall come. I ask this in the name of your son, my savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who moves in our lives in these days. AMEN.

A wonderful prayer, Vicky. Prayer can do much because we're giving the matter over to God.

This is always so unfortunate and is the reason so many of us who are believers stay away from church. It is the assumption that they are somehow more saved and less sinful than we are and it is an extremely polemic attitude and in no way exemplifies how Christ was and is even to the least of us. Hypocrites! We should pray for them because in their self righteousness they are indeed lost!
That was a beautiful prayer as it did reflect what we all feel Vicky, thanks for sharing and bless your sweet heart!
