Title: Another Introduction to Join the Masses
Post by: Reinhaven on November 09, 2012, 10:27:43 AM
Hello, hello, everyone!

I just found out about this site today, and I was pretty excited about joining it. The community seems friendly, the chronical of the site's author is inspiring and relateable, and even better, I think this site may help me to find out more about who I am, and express also who I'm certainly not.

I'm just your average kid on the block. I like videogames, writing, drawing, playing the piano, basketball, hanging out with friends, pursuing education, and wasting my precious time away at the computer. The last one is probably my favorite pastime.
... But then again, who doesn't like being on the computer?

Recently I told my mother about not only having a desire to be male and to be more masculine, but the fact that I know I should be. She was a good listener, but that was about it. She refuses to buy me masculine clothing, still says I'm "pretty" or "cute", and comes to tears every time I talk to her about how I feel. I've been devastated with transgenderal problems since a young age, and seeing that these problems make her upset too just breaks me. I thought it would be healthy to be able to talk to other people with similar issues and such.

That's me in a nutshell. I can't wait to meet more of you guys!

Hi Reinhaven,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

I like your introduction, but I say you just joined the "elite" rather than the masses, dude  ;D

Like you, I was never confused about my gender identity, I knew I was a female since I can remember, and yes, went through the whole family rejection and what ever. Be patient with them they are grieving, be firm and consistent, and they will come around

Good luck man!

Everyone,
Thank you for the warm welcoming! I'm sure I'll enjoy it here. Everyone seems friendly beyond belief. I can't wait to simmer right into the family.

Addressing V M:
Thanks for the mini-map to the site! This site's setup is different that most of the sites I've navigated.

An other topic, your profile picture is really fun and full of motion. I like it!

Addressing Ms. OBrien:
Goodness. 8,869 members, and that's only an estimation? Wow! There are a lot of people here.
Thanks for the encouragement! I have quite a few questions I want to ask and also plan to make many friends, so this is the right site choice! Already people are being so kind to me.

Addressing Jamie D:
That's exactly what I was hoping. I want to be able to let her know that it's not just a phase. It's not because I'm depressed. It's because it's who I am.
She wonders if I feel this way because I grew up with two brothers, but I don't feel they had any influence on my masculine leanings.

Addressing Catherine Sarah:
I'm all up for making friends! This is going to be a lot of fun and instructive, too. I'm ready to meet all of you guys and receive and offer help. You guys have been so kind to me already, so it's only right for me to try to contribute to the community as well.

Addressing Vevlyn Marie
I've been up to Boston before. It's truly a beautiful place.
I'm surprised at how many staff members have welcomed me. For most of the sites I've gone to, the staff are untouchable, and are only really around to correct and point out errors. This is a nice change of pace!

Addressing Peky:
irejfwiofw
That comment you made. It made me feel good. /shot
You were rejected? As in, they were disgusted by the idea of you being you and avoided you, or they simply rejected the fact that ->-bleeped-<- was a thing? Either way, that must have been terribly rough, and I'm sorry.
I know the parent that knows about my issue is under a great deal of stress, and I can't blame her. She's been handling it better than I ever would have imagined, though, and I'm really proud of her... Even though I'm her kid.

Addressing EmeraldPerpugilliam:
Thank you for the greeting. I'm proud to be one of the many guiding lights, although not particularly bright, that shine in the sky of this new community I've discovered. Being accepted here so quickly was a shock--a pleasant one.

So, here is the paradox of my life: when I was a kid my Mom and sisters were supportive, my Dad barely could tolerate my cross-dressing and assertions "I am a female damn it"
Well, by the time I entered puberty, my Mod told my Dad: "either he lives or I live," needless to say, off I went to live in a farm owned by my uncle. I saw my uncle a couple of times a month, but for the most part I was by myself and the "hired hands." This was my family attempt to make me into a man.

Any way this your thread, so yeah, like I said, all the best man

BTW what irejfwiofw means?

Peky:
Yikes. That sounds terribly rough. Again, I'm sorry they wouldn't see you for who you were. That wasn't right for them to do at all, trying to compress you into a genderal box that wasn't at all yours.

Oh. That was a keyboard smash. An expression of happiness, excitement, or another emotional rush.
In that case it was a positive keyboard smash.
