Title: Introduce yourself (right on!)

Hi people!
I thought it's about time to stop lurking and post something. A little about myself:
I'm a late 30something transgender non op heterosexual female living as a male. (Some of you guys know the drill: In love with then girlfriend/now wife +kids, never had the courage to come out and mess things up with my married life and not likely to come out again, after coming out to my therapist some 15 years ago and chickening out on the whole thing).
Carrying this trans burden and not having anyone to talk to really messes with your head, although I'm able to manage the dysphoria most of the time, sometimes it gets unbearable, so that's probably why I signed up here. Looking for people to talk to and hopefully make some friends (not interested at all in romance, sexual relationships or the like).
I love music (everything except mainstream pop, the darkest of metals and tex-mex), culture, the arts, food and finance (what a mix, right?)
Wanted to post a pic so all you peeps could see me (don't get too excited, it's a recent pic modified with those neat makeover sites, with the contrast way up to sort of hide mah identiteeeey ), but I guess you have to earn member credits or something in order to get that kind of access.
Anyhow, hit me up if you're in the same situation as me (or not) or if you want to chat. I hope I'll be a more active member from now on the boards.
Take care, hugs and Peace out!
Monica

I'm always around! Is it safe to assume that you speak Australian? Well, actually it doesn't matter, they pretend they're speaking English. Hugs, Devlyn

hey Dev (can I call you Dev? it sounds nice to me ;D , but in case it's not ok, then just say so), Maybe I made a jumble of all the things I wrote, but just so there's no misunderstanding, I'm not from Oz, I'm from a South-American country that shall remain un-named for the time being.
As for speaking American and Australian, I think I can hold my own, since I sort of grew up near DC, and English is sort of a second mother tounge.
Hugs and Take Care

Hi Monica,
A big Aussie, not South American welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while. Well being here for over 40 posts, you're nearly a piece of the furniture. Just beware of Ms. Devlyn. She has a habit of putting her stocking feet on the furniture. :police:
There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. As you have already done. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.
You don't have to worry about speaking Australian here, as we don't speak it in any case. Much too complicated. We speak "strine" here. Goes something like G'day mate. Eow-e-ya Bluey? and all such other contractions of the Queens english you can think of, then some. OK Cobber? Struth!!!
Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Hey Catherine!
I'm really liking it here, especially because of all the friendly sheilas and blokes you can chew the fat with.
It's been donkey years since I had so much fun like the last few days by just interacting with people in the forum.
Thank you for taking your time to greet me with such a funny post! things like these make me feel welcome, like a piece of furniture! If an occasional foot rests on my head. I wont mind at all ;)
Hugs and take care.
Also, I would LOOOOVE to live in Oz!

Yeah, it messes with your head. But you will find friends here, I have to doubt. Some of the nicest and most understand people in the world are found on these boards.

Thanks for your kind words Jaime!
Living in a conservative society, sometimes my trans issues do feel like burden I can't share with anyone, and the little time I've been here sharing with everyone feels great.
Take care and hugs!

I may say I am in the greater DC area, and loving it.
So, yeah, welcome Monica. Happy posting girl!
