Susan's Place Transgender Resources

So...introduction! I'm an MTF transexual from Adelaide, South Australia, and I started transition back in January of this year. I'm out to everyone I care if they know or not locally, with only a few straggler family members interstate being out of the loop.

I'm mid-30s and have been one of those hardcore trans denying types since I was 8-9 years old, not even capable of `faking it' through superficial romantic relationships because I couldn't handle how I would need to interact. But, transition is giving me something to look forward to - the hope that I'll actually be able to relate to guys as a woman some day.

I've really been going it alone so far, and yeah I need to reach out more - fighting the urge to hide away is fighting an old habit, and I've definitely been guilty of not being part of the community.. My cis friends have been really great, but there's so much that they just don't `get', both the things that suck, and the significance of some things that could seem really minor from the outside....so yeah, that needs to change, I think.

A big New South Wales welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while. Lots of good things happening in Sth Oz these days. You are definitely in good company down there.

Sorry I missed your intro.

Yes I'm in South Australia in Adelaide. As is my friend Kelly.

I'm out and about FT and have nothing to hide. There are lots of facilities for TG people here. If you want clubs and pubs that are TG friendly we can point you to them. There are also a few help societies including the Carrousel Club that is a support site for TG people, and some others. Of course the FEAST festival is on at the moment so there are many TG people around and about. Adelaide as you probably know is very gender friendly so as long as you don't go to 'silly' places and take sensible precautions you will be fine.

Us Aussie girls have to get together.

Catherine Sarah has a private jet, as no one will fly with her. But the rest of us have to meet up.

OK I'm FT and travel as me, Catherine does as well as does Kelly and Karen (you can pick Karen she is 6' 2" with a paper bag over her head) with a gorgeous girl friend. Some mating ritual that Tasmanian's do seemingly. Weird people.


So  let me know when and where.

Just don't go out into the sun for a while.

Once the bleeding stops the skin starts healing, takes the scar tissue years to fade, BUT it makes for an interesting "ice breaker" to any new groups you join.
