I TAKE SPIRONOLACTONE ONCE A DAY  AND A SHOT OF ESTRADIOL  EVERY 3 MONTHS CAUSE I TOOK ALOT OF HORMONES WHEN I WAS YOUNG STARTING AT THE AGE OF 16 AND  NOW I RATHER TAKE PILLS TO EASE ON MY LIVER  THE BOTTLE IS OF  40ML I THINK  , PLUS I STARTED TAKING  AND DO NOW  DAILY  ESTRADIOL IN PILLS  I TAKE 2 @ DAY    IS THIS ABOUT RIGHT?


PLEASE  I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR  FROM  SOME  EXPERTS OUT THERE   or  just  some opinions

Is there a trans clinic in your area? Or doctors should give you dosage info on the harm reduction model. But this site does not support self-medication, so please be careful about your posts.

In answer to your question. The ONLY expert you should be listening to is your Endocronoligist. These drugs can and do cause severe damage to major organs. You need to be professionally monitored.  They can, and do kill. That is a fact, not an opinion.

i don't suppose sumbody knows of a endocrino  .. somewhere in nyc   :) .. thank  you  for the warm welcome! .. i need the support and info  because i'm planning on having my srs  next year and i have my first  consult  with DR. Meltzer  this coming Feb.

I'd suggest slowing your pace a bit, take a step back and think, rather than feel.

While hormones-"HRT"-can cause severe damage to major organs, SRS *does* permanently change a very intimate region of your body. Yet, you aren't even seeing an endo yet...and you plan on SRS in one year?

You also couldn't be bothered to read the board's rules on discussing dosages?

You have no idea how to locate a therapist, in order to rule out potential mental illness? That is normal protocol, and a wise action just by itself.

Do yourself a favor...SLOW DOWN.

I've been through the resources page and haven't found any Endos in NYC. You may wish to Google Endocrinologist NYC and work your way through the list.

Dr. Meltzer will no doubt take you through some of the hoops and jumps you need to go through before SRS. These may include a prescribed time on HRT, living full time, Psychiatric evaluation, the list goes on. So as Beth mentioned, take a breath and seriously consider the direction you are heading in. Once you get to the "other side" there is NO coming back.

If you end up looking for a therapist/counsellor, go to the "Reference Library" found at the top of the page and you'll find a comprehensive list of therapists.
