Title: How often and what do you eat?
Post by: Cindy on November 20, 2012, 02:39:34 AM
Post by: Cindy on November 20, 2012, 02:39:34 AM
I was wondering about health issues etc and reading how some/many people diet. So I thought I'd do a thread about it.
I eat three times a day:
Breakfast: usually a lightly fried/poached egg on toast, black tea, no sugar.
Lunch: a meat sandwich or a salad of lettuce, carrot, capsicum, tomato, mushroom with either low fat cheese or lean pastrami as protein. I may have a boiled egg as well.
Dinner: Normally meat and veg. Steak and salad, chicken and veg, pasta and stuff. Casserole, stew depending upon the season. Def the main meal of the day.
Evening snack, Cheese and biscuits, glass of wine.
I'm about 5' 9'' and weigh 60kilos.
I also work out at a gym 2-3 times a week.

My diet changes every once in a while, but on work days it is pretty standard.
Breakfast: Yogurt and a hard boiled egg
Snack #1: two packets of oatmeal
Snack #2: Special K bar
Snack #3: Crackers or veggies
Lunch: Can of soup during the winter, or a sandwich or salad during the summer. With crackers or veggies (which ever I did not eat for a snack).
Snack #4: Fruit
Snack #5: Chips, or popcorn, or something else salty
Dinner: Fish or chicken with veggies. Sometimes I will make homemade soup or stew during the spring or fall. Every so often I get a craving for steak and have that in stead
Snack #6: Something sweet
Bedtime: Herbal tea.
I am 5'10" and 155lbs. Plus, I am still losing weight. I have a crazy high metabolism ;D

If I'm not very busy, I'll have a bowl of cheerios by midday. Then I will snack on fruit and things like rice or crackers or yogurt in the afternoon. Dinner with the family is variable and always excellent because everybody cooks.
If I'm busy, I often forget to eat until three or four in the afternoon. Then I might have a piece of fruit and go back to work until dinnertime, and that will be all for the day.
Holy cow! I think I would starve to death by 8 a.m. that is when I am usually on snack #1!!

I eat six to seven times a day - three medium sized meals and three to four "snacks".
Breakfast is a small bowl of whole grain cereal with soy or almond milk plus some fruit.
First snack is usually sliced fruit or carrots or celery with almond butter.
Lunch is an all veggie salad.
Second snack is often a protein or nutrition bar - though I often try for raw almonds or a small whole fruit/veggie smoothie.
Dinner is usually something vegetarian that requires cooking and a bit of preparation. Or raw food if I'm lazy.
Third snack is whatever is on hand or another smoothie - depends on whether I'm going to the gym.
Fourth snack is only post-workout protein shake or supplement - maybe something low calorie with fiber to fill me up.
Obviously I try to eat vegetarian - but I'm flexible when I have to be. Eat clean, live clean. Now that I've got my thyroid meds right I'm really enjoying the energy and health from this diet. This is what I eat at home. As I've been in the middle east for the past eight months I'm a little more limited in my choices and can't cook - so it's simpler. Cereal and fruit then salad for lunch and dinner. Zone perfect bars and almonds fill in the gaps.

Depends on the day mostly. If I have an early call, and I'm leaving from home, then I skip breakfast so I can sleep on the bus. Then I get to work, grab some coffee, pastry and bacon (the kitchen girls love me and give me bacon - like a huge wad of it) and I'll have full lunches and dinners with very rich, and pretty expensive food too, food. Lots of cream sauces and cheesecake. When I'm at home or on my own I tend to lots of salads, raw fruit and veggies, some fish and the occasional pizza.

I have seen this girl eat. She is not kidding.
I generally eat sporadic. I usually don't eat breakfast except maybe Carnation Instant Breakfast. Lunch depend on whether I am home or not. If I am at school I just go get a sandwich from a local store. Dinner is usually a chicken patty or breast, maybe a hamburger. I do snake on ice creme if I have it.

As soon as you all dropped me off on Sunday, I ate. I was so hungry having only eaten one meal that day. I can't believe I made it from 10 till 1 without having lunch!

I should in all honesty confess to eating my kids grub every know and then. They usually eat spaghetti with meatballs, pizza, macaroni and cheese, hotdogs, chilli, and hamburgers.
My youngest boys tends to eat the food I make for myself. Another addendum is that I eat very hot food. I can and do it a raw habaneros and other hot peppers as if they were apples.

At most 3 times in one day, but I only eat when I'm hungry and eat A LOT at any meal.
I eat anything that is real food and tasty. I don't care about carbs, protein, or fats. People are way too paranoid about nutrient intake, especially about carbs. Rice, pork, chicken, bagels, milk, fruits, vegetables, whatever. It really doesn't matter as long as I get enough calories, vitamins, minerals, and nutrients.

Around Five Times per day:
07:30: Breakfast. cereal or junk breakfast food.
10:30: Mid morning snack, between two and three pieces of fruit
13:30: Lunch. Sometimes food from home, restaurant once per week (to eat what I can't bring to work)
18:00: "merienda". I should try to control this one. I come home rather hungry and I can devour practically everything.
21:00: Dinner, something light, usually fish or salad.
I think the previous year was crazy enough to eat an Ice Cream at 3:00 AM on August. It was so hot and I could not sleep...

I eat lots of stuff. My boyfriend occasionally compares me to a garbage disposal. :( We'll eat dinner, then go to a movie together, share a large popcorn, which I'll usually eat almost completely myself (if you've ever had one of those movie dates where you reach over and the popcorn has mysteriously disappeared, you understand what I do). Then I'll want ice cream afterward, and I'll get the hot fudge brownie with a vanilla scoop on top. (whisper: And then we'll get home, and I'll ask him to cook me a snack.)
I do unfortunately eat a fair amount of fast food when I'm on my own, but I almost always prefer the healthier places. Chipotle. Subway. Rubio's. I probably eat two medium-sized meals twice a day. Once in the afternoon and once in the evening. I rarely have any kind of appetite in the morning.
I actually stay pretty slim most of the time, despite my bad eating habits. I can eat 3000ish calories a day and not gain weight. When my metabolism is high because I'm active, that's basically how much I eat, and I feel incredibly hungry when I eat "normal" amounts. I can pick up weight quickly, but it's usually not food that does it.
My eating habits and metabolism are really influenced by two things for me. Exercise is a big thing, but it's probably the smaller factor. I take ballet and modern classes sometimes, and I'm an avid cyclist. When I'm actively cycling, I'll probably do a minimum of 30 miles a week. Up to 100 if I tackle some of my harder routes like I did tonight (there's like a 2-3 mile uphill stretch with a gradually increasing grade). So I'm pretty active.
But exercise is not really a choice for me. There are nights where I either let my legs race on a road bike down the street or let my mind race with bad feelings at home.
Honestly, the biggest thing which influences my eating habits is mental state. I haven't been seriously depressed in a few years, but when I get that way, it's like everything I just told you flips on its head. I'll have no appetite, eat maybe 1000ish calories a day, and I'll start gaining weight. Don't ask me how that makes sense. Usually my eating habits at these times decay into me thinking, "I should probably eat something because humans need to do that now and again," eating some terrible junk food, and then not eating for the rest of the day. Luckily, I'm past that lifestyle now.
Honestly, to all the trans people dealing with weight issues, I think the best "diet" is simply two rules:
1. Find a physical activity you _enjoy_ doing enough that you do it freely and willingly, then make it as easy as possible for yourself to do it. Since I have a road bike, I do have to fix pressure every time I ride, but I can basically pick up a few things and be gone in less than 5 minutes at any time.
2. Fight to keep yourself happy and as positive as you can be, even if that's only a little.
Sometimes you have people with outright terrible eating habits which should be fixed, but I think 99% of people eat the same way: sometimes for hunger and sometimes for comfort. So I really think the two changes above will probably do more to help people with weight than any forced dietary modification, since the above things have lasting effects.
That was a little rambling, sorry. I think my blood is still pumping a little from the ride.

My diet is a mixed bag. I'm not a morning person, so unfortunately, by the time I get up, it's a case of get to work, and if I"m lucky, I get a cup of coffee to start the day.
I do have a proper meal at lunch, and a decent dinner as well - most of the time my food is a reasonable mix of carbs (rice, breads), meats, and vegetables. Moderation in everything, then I spoil it with my sweet tooth! As far as my weight is concerned, it yo-yos a lot - as soon as I start exercising more, it drops down quite rapidly. Staying injury free long enough to do so is more the issue for me. I don't worry about my weight until I my clothes feel tightish around my tummy.
I do enjoy my food, and would indulge in eating out more, except it's getting too expensive, and there just isn't the time right now.

Breakfast is coffee with heavy cream and a banana or on weekends bacon and eggs.
Lunch is always some type of meat, usually leftovers from the night before. My favorite lunch is salami & cream cheese roll ups. Sooooooo good.
After work when I get home around 3:15 I'll usually have a snack-- again usually more leftovers or an apple with peanut butter or something like that.
Then for dinner I'll eat the good parts of what my family is eating-- the meat and vegetables and skip the pasta or rice or bread or whatever. If all they have is carbs, like when they make just mac and cheese, I'll make myself something.
Then Mon-Thursday I go to my martial arts classes for a few hours and when I come home around 9 I'm starving and have a snack or another piece of fruit or some leftovers from dinner if there are any.
So it's generally small, high fat/low carb meals and snacks 4-5 times a day. Although I do intermittent fasting a lot-- I'll just have the coffee for breakfast and not bring a lunch or on weekends I may just not eat until dinner or I may have a huge bacon and egg breakfast and not eat anything else for the rest of the day.
I do let myself have junk food every so often. My dad says I'm a hypocrite because I ate pie on Thanksgiving. I don't see why he doesn't understand that allowing yourself junk food in moderation is a good way to keep your diet up. The few times when I was younger I tried the "never eat junk food again" approach and I panicked and gave up pretty quickly. But when I know it's fine to have the pie on Thanksgiving or let myself have one Christmas cookie at a party and not feel the least bit guilty about it as long as I eat healthy 90% of the time, I'm much more likely to see this way of eating as something I can keep up for the rest of my life. It's not being a hypocrite, it's recognizing that it's ok to treat yourself as long as you're not eating junk every single day like most people do.

I basically am constantly eating:
Breakfast: one serving of fat free plain greek yogurt or a fruit and vegetable smoothie. Coffee--black, two sugars
Second breakfast: More black coffee with two sugars, an apple or orange; sometimes a serving of baby carrots
Lunch: One serving of soynuts or sunflower seeds, one serving of edamane, one serving of dried currants or raisins. (All nuts/seeds are raw and unsalted)
Second Lunch: An apple or orange (or sometimes I spice it up with a pair)
Dinner: Stir-fry or Curry
Evening snack (I only have an evening snack if I exercised): Fruit and vegetable smoothie with some protein supplement thrown in

Probably not enough - this is about standard:
Breakfast - Pack of 4 breakfast biscuits
Lunch - Tin of soup
Dinner - Stuff like Pasta (bolognese or similar), Turkey Burgers and home made chips, Sausage and Mash
Snacks - A few chocolates or some biscuits.
Probably around 1000 - 1400 cals most days. When the weather's not lousy (like it is now) I run about 12 miles a week too.
The eating really took a nose dive when my gender issues flared up. I'm down to a healthy weight now but I'm finding it hard to start eating more to maintain again.

About 5 days a week it's like this
Get up between 3-4 AM Put some coffee on
About 6 AM grab a banana
About 9 AM A buttered bagel and a bowl of cereal,(Keep adding cereal till the milk is gone)
About 10:30 grab a snack
About 12:30 Lunch is a sandwich and desert
Between supper one or two snacks (depends how hungry I am)
About 6:00 supper (Last night) 1/4 of a Papa Murphy's cheese sausage and pepperoni pizza (Family size)
About 8:30 a piece of piece with one or two scoops of ice cream
(Yes I eat like horse) Can't gain weight very easily
After supper I do spend about 1 hour on the WII fit (45 is spent doing aerobics) It works for me as I do not like going to a gym.
The others days it's maybe a light lunch and a very light supper (Just don't feel like eating on those days)

Hi ,
My diet is still changing , but at the moment is :
Breakfast : 2-3 eggs and maybe a cucumber smoothie
A few hours later : Fruits , I usually eat apples , oranges , pears or bananas
Lunch : Some meat , although I really want to avoid it for moral reasons :(
or
Cheese (I like all of them , fresh , Gouda , Brie ,.....), Yoghurt , Kefir , Milk , or other dairy products on the days I don't
eat meat
A couple of hours later : Fruits , as many as I crave
A little later : A protein powder shake , sometime I make it a little ' guilty ' , with Honey , Milk and Bananas
Dinner : Mash potatoes , made by a special recipe :D , is healthy and tasty , and I need a full stomach before bed , especially that I don't eat bread or any gluten or starchy products , so I feel quite hungry even after meals
I would like to start eating soups , but I guess I am a little lazy when I have to prepare them
I eat Honey for sweetener and sometime just for pleasure , as I don't eat sugar or chocolate anymore . I supplement with a spoon of pollen a day .
Sometime I eat Peanut Butter or Walnut Butter .
I am careful at salt , some is from the processed food and some I add when I cook , but just a pinch
I am not used with spices , also I guess it would be healthier to eat more vegetables .
I am not used with Junk Food , Sodas , or other Commercial Products , most of the food I eat is only a little processed or not processed at all and at home I try to cook in a healthy way , even that many people would consider it boring . I try to learn some new recipes , in the case I will have a SO soon , I guess he wouldn't be pleased with the meals I eat :D

I eat anything death or alive, hot or col, bland or spicy.... I will eat the veggies as the last resources... where I come veggies are only for rabbits and donkeys... LOL
My only rule is to eat only to 80% full... old Okinawan trick !

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays: Wake up at 6:30; Go to school; Get a fruit cup and coffee during my break at ~10:00; Have a snack when I get home at ~2:30; Eat whatever my mom makes for dinner at ~6:30; Finally I snack while watching TV late at night.
Tuesdays, Thursdays: I wake up whenever; Usually don't eat until my mom makes lunch; Eat lunch; Usually don't eat until my mom makes dinner; Eat dinner; I also sometimes snack while I'm studying.
Friday nights, Saturdays, Sundays: Junk food all weekend, it's horrible, but I can never resist chips and soda.
Basically, every Monday I'm 135 pounds and every Friday I'm 130. Lol it's probably not very healthy.

I just eat when I am hungry. I had a more concrete schedule in years past. But that is long gone now. It started when I went through the panic attacks and I was barely eating anything at all and suffering from extreme insomnia. Once I was on medication to get all of that straightened out, I was able to get the negative stuff out of the way. But I never got back on a consistent eating schedule. I just eat when I am hungry and try not to eat late at night anymore. But there are times here and there when I end up doing it anyway.
I try to eat fruit everyday if I can. Even when I am broke, I still eat fruit five days out of the week. I hate veggies. I know they are healthier for me but I just can't stomach them most of the time. The ONLY time I can stand them is if I take stuff like onions, peppers and mushrooms and chop the hell out of them. I would then cook them up in meatballs. But with the absurd cost of meats now compared to a few years ago, I rarely do this.
I tend to eat mostly canned and frozen stuff. I try to keep the portion sizes down but sometimes I slack off, especially when it comes to stuff like pizza and lasagna. But, again, with the ridiculous cost of meat, I rarely make a lasagna these days. So, at least I'm not gorging myself on lasagna like I did back in the day. But on the very rare occasion that I can cook one, I tend to pig out since it is so rare.

I eat plenty of healthy things like oreos, pizza, peanut butter, mac and cheese, subs, hamburgers, etc. I pretty much only eat when I'm hungry and I eat til I'm stuffed. I avoid the bad things like vegetables.

I have eaten pretty much anything and everything. I tend to eat every day.
Turned out I was allergic to a lot of seafood, but sometimes I'll play Russian roulette with crab. I avoid carbs as well.

I eat 400-600 calories every three hours. I try and get at least 25 grams of protein and have 30% of my calories come from fat. I try and stay away from any kind of processed food or bread. Lots of veggies and fruit. Never drink any calories, I just stick with water. It's boring as all hell and takes a good amount of time to prepare, but all in all it's worth it.

I tend to eat 3 meals a day. I no longer believe in "healthy" and "unhealthy" food.
For years I was afraid of fat and I have spent years trying different diets and things but now I have decided to stop dieting as I had some really bad eating issues and started binge eating. I still get a lot of guilt when I eat but I think it is reducing and I am paying it less attention.
What I eat varies a lot. I like desserts and things and I adore chocolate. I enjoy eating lots of different foods.
Yesterday I had porridge with raisins, banana, cookie & cream spread, cashew nut butter, honey and sugar. It was delish!
Lunch was a cheese, ham, salad, salad cream and pickle sandwich followed by a nectarine. I was gonna finish off my chocolate blondie but I left it at home.
Dinner - Burger with sweet potato chips and salad followed by my white chocolate blondie and cookie & cream spread!
Today I had eggs, bacons, fried bread and sauteed vegetables for breakfast and I had a piece of fried bread with cookie & cream spread
For lunch I had a tuna, cheese and salad tosty with blue cheese dressing and mayonaise. I had a mr Kipling cake afterwards with cookie & cream spread and an orange.
For dinner I am having salmon with cuscus and salad and I will probably have a dessert afterwards.

My typical day:
Breakfast- Avocado toast with an egg over hard or oatmeal w/ kiwi, blueberries, chia seeds and flaxseed
Snack- Blueberries and blackberries
Snack- almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds
Lunch- homemade veggie flatbread or salad with spinach, lettuce, broccoli sprout and watercress
Dinner- something vegetarian, usually prepared and cooked. I do a lot with black beans in particular.
My diet is heavy in healthy fat and dietary fiber and I don't worry so much about protein. I try to keep my sugar intake as low as possible, though on days when I run in the AM, I will have a glass of chocolate milk. Other than that it's green tea or water for drinks.
I tend to end up in the 1200-1800 calorie/day range.

I don't do breakfast, other than a coffee. Usually don't eat until late afternoon or dinner time.
Right now I'm on a low carb diet which I might look into doing long term if it helps deal with my metabolic issues after temporary hypothyroidism. While eating lots of veg and fish is a lot better than my old habits of sometimes going days without eating it's a tough diet to stick to. You can't get that ketosis taste out of your mouth, you have dreams about bread and it's murder walking past a bakery when the door's open. But I do need to reset my leptin and insulin balance and all that and it's gotta be done. I know my dad successfully kept himself on low carb diets for years and is in good shape. I only plan to do it until I've sorted myself out. Living with a partner (unlike my dad) makes it more difficult to pursue separate eating habits.

Too often and too much. A seafood diet; I see food I like and eat it. Really a comfort food diet. I rarely eat anything but what I like and I like to feel full and comfy. Amazing I am still alive the way I eat!
Ok who's cooking tonight? I really never cook but have been known to heat things up.

I eat about 6 times a day. Diabetic. I start out with coffee and oatmeal. Do not accompany with toast. Two hours later I have some fruit, Lunch. I eat what I want but discard the bun and restrict portion sizes. Later in the afternoon I will have another fruit portion. As with lunch, Dinner is anything I want but in sensible proportions. If the pasta is covering more than a fourth of your plate, you're eating too much. Eliminate all fried foods. Yes even fries. Eliminate bread, reduce portion of pasta, instead of soda drink Ice Tea. 0 calories vs 225. And don't deny yourself that cookie for desert. But only one. Lastly and I do not advocate this but it did work for me. Find an apatite stimulant to motivate your metabolism. I found this out by accident as I was trying to find a method to reduce my neuropathy. Now for the details that count . I was 298# at my heaviest about a year ago. Today I fit a size 16 and weigh between 220 and 230. I can actually fit some fashionable clothes instead of relying on Omar the tent maker.

Once a day.
Its called intermittent fasting or warrior`s diet.
Despite the name its supposed to be healthy.
One advantage is the meal can be eaten in a peaceful and serene surrounding...
its supposed to be better received by the body then...
It can be fun to cook meals that are diverse, and nutritious...
fries with a soup with red cabbage ... and whole grain bread and some salad...
nutritious and tasty :)

You could try some subs filled with fried hashed eggs and some salad ;)

I am veggephobic and have never eaten a salad yet. Green stuff is for spending, smoking or playing in. I know it is childish and i'm ok with that too ;D ;D ;D Fortunately for me they now have Soylent Green in patties that taste like chicken...dosen't everything? Honestly, food is a moral issue and being vegan or mostly vegetarian is of real benefit to the people and other critters roaming this planet. I may get on board the green train yet....but no hurry, it's time for a pizza lunch. ;)
Hugs

Slowly gone from "part time vegan" to "mostly vegan". Going to put up recipes later.
Vegan for health and lazy reasons. Meat is too much hassle for me I'm a throw it all in the slow cooker and go to work kinda gal (then bag and freeze in appropriate portions for more laziness later)
Good day
Breakfast burrito (400 cal)
Red bean & quinoa chilli for lunch and dinner. (150 cal each)
1 litre of unsweetened almond milk (116 cal)
Multivitamins and fish oil tablets
Unlimited red bush tea with almond milk (1-3 cups on average)
Oh and water ofc
Exercise
Mon & Sat - Treadmill 71mins 10k
Wed - 1h Freestyle aerobics/sculpting class then treadmill (new program edit time and duration later)
I do allow the occasional bad day where all bets are off but my consumption on bad days is reducing so yay.
When eating rubbish I eat half's or bits so 12 box of assorted Krispy Kreme donuts I'll happily eat 12 half's and throw the rest away. Or order nothing and have wee bits of other people's stuff (god I'm turning into such a stereotype lol)

I don't get up early. Usually anywhere from 9 to 11 is when I wake up and eat, then I go to work and usually don't eat again until I get home at anywhere from 9 to 11 p.m., sometimes 12. What I eat usually varies, with instant noodles being common fare. When I'm off I sometimes eat multiple meals a day, and what I eat depends on what I have at home. I enjoy soda quite a bit, and I'm shocked I don't weigh more than I do. When I go out to eat, i take special care to get plenty of vegetables. In the past ten years my weight has fluctuated between 110s up to 135, usually being in the low 120s.

Mostly vegan and mostly gluten free. I have been vegetarian for my entire adult life and my son has celiac. I eat a lot of veggies, fruit and some grains. I try to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks every day...

I eat whatever happens to be on hand whenever I'm hungry and/or feel like eating what's on hand. That usually translates to one or two meals a day, rarely more, and even more rarely a hiatus of a few days or weeks.

dinner- half box of pasta, some veggy and some type of sauce which could be pesto or tomato based
or half a bag of pan seared green beans and a "chkn" soy cutlet.

I have been vegan for about 20 years, vegetarian for another 15 years before that.
My wife loves to bake, so sometimes I'm a junk-food vegan: cakes, muffins, pies, etc. I have oatmeal porrige for breakfast, typically a sandwich for lunch, and some kind of veggie dish for supper. And 50 grams of dark chocolate a day: it's one of the four food groups! :D
I used to enter in a cross-country ski marathon (42 km) every year. The year I went vegan, my time dropped from 4:30 to 4:00 with no changes to my training regime.

So yeah didn't really pay much attention to what I ate and now I am kind of feeling different on it. I am making conscience decisions on what I am eating. I also noticed my appetite is changing. I can't eat as much as I want to, this is promising.

I saw this thread and it is a time to revisit.
I went to 46 Kg when I lost my throat and now I'm 54.6Kg 6 months after that.
Breakfast. 3 weetbix, fruit, cream, full cream milk and maple syrup. .. all designed to increase fat and calories.
Lunch. Sausage, fried egg, toast, beans. Or equivalent type of meal. With lots of liquid. High Calorie and fat.
Dinner. Roast chicken, fish or other lean meat, veggies. Anything high protein and fibre with lots of sauce so I can swallow.
I'm putting on a kilo a month of muscle and good fat. I'll stop when I reach 60 kg again.
I do not recommend my weight loss program!!!!

I eat somewhere around 1300 calories or so a day. Sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more.

Two meals a day. Breakfast at 9.30 and dinner at 8pm. Sometimes fresh fruit between meals.
Breakfast. Normally 1/2 waffle with olive oil butter and syrup. Fresh orange juice and coffee. My Dr encourages me to have a higher sugar intake as my blood sugars are a little low.
Dinner. When eating at home my chef makes alot of vegetables, fish, pork or chicken ( never eat fried foods or beef) with rice or noodles and fresh fruit. I eat out 3 nights a week and dont eat fried or foid with lactose. Im Asian and have lactose intolerence.
I exercise daily and run 3x per week totaling 22 kikometers. On days I run I will eat fruit afterwards.
Very concious of nutrition and keeping in my desired weight zone.

As I said in another thread, I do Low-Carb/High-Fat, primal-style. As for frequency, whenever I happen get hungry.
I eat between 40-80g carbs a day, usually none of it is from grains or sucrose. (Sometimes I'll have a quesadilla from sprouted grain or some chips here and there.) My fat intake is 100g+ daily, mostly in the form of animal fats from eggs and dairy. My protein is about average - I have protein powder that I'll be using once I figure out how to time it with working out.
I eat a lot of stir fry, frittatas, hard boiled/scrambled eggs, salad, and vegetable hash. I also eat a lot of plain cheese, good quality dark chocolate, and tea/coffee with whipping cream.
I used to get hypoglycemic a lot, and had very little metabolic flexibility - basically, my body had no clue how to burn lipids when it ran out of glucose, and I'd bonk if I didn't eat every couple of hours. Absolutely miserable (and sometimes dangerous) when you aspire to lead a more active lifestyle like I do. I recently went on my first strenuous hike since starting LCHF, however, and the difference was night and day! All I had for breakfast was two eggs and a banana, and that powered me through the entire 6 miles and 2000 feet of elevation gain without so much as a single hunger pain! I had one more banana, a piece of cheese and a piece of chocolate at the top before coming down the mountain, and that got me through until dinner. I was floored.
Never going back to eating bread and sugar again!
Dessert is highly overrated. :P

At the moment not often, no breakfast (unless coffee counts) no lunch usually, and I keep to ketogenic diet most of the time.
It's better for me as an endomorph, I don't lose muscle on this kind of diet, I only need about 800 cals a day to tick over, and it avoids the problem of feeling sleepy/foggy after dinner.

I usually only eat two meals a day, always have.due to anxiety issues as a kid and not wanting anything on my stomach before going to school to avoid any potential upset stomach fallout. Lately I have consciously morphed this into following Intermittent Fasting "diet" guidelines, eating only within an 8 hour window each day.
I've always been blessed genetically in terms of nutrition, and no matter what I or most of my family eats we never have any deficiencies (or too much of something), so I really don't pay attention to nutritional content most of the time(ie: I never bother thinking "I need a serving of fruit or vegetables"). I do try to keep to a roughly average balance of carb-fat-protein in the macro nutrient part of the equation, though it usually just comes down to calorie count for me as long as I am in the ballpark.
Fortunately for me over the years, I actively have detested visibly fatty and greasy food. I always obsessively trim every tiny bit of fat off of chicken, burgers are made with 96% lean beef, tacos and chili are made with ground turkey, etc. If I need more fat for cooking, I would rather add olive oil to the pan than rely on the animal fat. Visible animal fat just grosses me out. (Even with my beloved pepperoni, I always order pizza well done or toss it under the broiler myself to render out as much of the fat as possible. Crisps it up nicely, then I dab up the excess left with a paper towel.)

I get a headache if I don't eat breakfast by 9 am. For breakfast I'll have maybe a bagel with cream cheese or hummus on bread- things like that. I'm drinking peppermint tea right now inbetween breakfast and lunch. I'll also have fruit maybe a plum and pair.
Lunch if I don't pack something with me (similar to breakfast foods usually), I may get a salad or pizza or chinese/mexican food.
Dinner it depeneds sometimes I'll make a quick ramen soup or something similar if I didn't have much salty food during the day. Or again I'll have some of the breakfast foods I mentioned and that can include cheese with bread, thyme and olive oil with bread, or baba ganoush. I eat a lot of mediterranean foods since I'm vegeterian.
Where I "mess up" is after dinner I'll sometimes have junk food like donuts or chips... I dont know why I keep buying these stuff.

Since the thyroid issue I had a couple of years back my short term memory was bad. The thyroid recuperated but my memory was still crap. Lately I'd been losing a train of thought mid sentence sometimes, or thinking something I wanted to do and then a moment later it was just gone from my brain for good - annoying and a bit concerning. I'm not of an age where memory should be a common problem.
I heard blueberries were supposed to help with restoring neurons, some chemical in them that promotes brain cell growth or something. I picked some up in November and since then have just been snacking on them raw a lot. I doubted they would do anything but I needed to eat something healthy anyway.
To be honest I think my memory IS improving. I haven't had any thoughts escaping me lately at all. My recall has been much better. I'll stick with eating blueberries.

I have 3 meals a day. Breakfast and Lunch consist of Soylent, the meal replace... stuff. And when I have dinner at home its usually something low carb, high protein and nutrients.
Here lately I have been doing intermittent fasting where I don't eat for 16 hours and eat non-processed, healthy vegan meal that either come from family's gardens and the natural grocery store... or Soylent if I'm too lazy to cook, lol.
