Well, I've finally gotten myself on a waitlist for a gender therapist, but its apparently 6-8 months. Its not that I'm surprised, its just that I think that I'll go crazy waiting that long. I feel like I get depressed more every day. How do you keep from getting overwhelmed? I've been clinically depressed my whole life, only in the last couple years have I managed to shake myself out of it, but I feel like its creeping up again. So how do you keep up your spirits when it seems like you'll never get to fix yourself?

Imagine your life on a scale... a time-line, and assume that you'll live to be ninety.
That always helps me to put where I'm at, and where I've been, in perspective.

Do the things that help you feel true to yourself.
What are those things you like doing not because people expect you to, but because they're your thing? For me it's taking walks, reading books, talking with friends on the phone, listening to my favorite music. But it's different for everyone. Figure out what those things are and do them. As often as you can. Make time to fit them into your life.
Also, look around for ways you can bring joy into the lives of the people around you.
Good luck AD.

It helps me to find the joy in the little things. I try to focus on the positive aspect of everything.
