Well, i currently use a Gillette Fusion Pro Glide razor, and have been using that for years, but until i can afford laser hair removal and waxing every month, i need something that will reduce the appearance of my chin and mustache hair, it is very appalling to me and i want to have my hair gone someday, but for now, is there any good option like in the way of wet/dry razors (electric) vs using what i use now? Is there anything i can do to get rid of the appearance of facial hair in general?

Since you plan on getting laser, I would recommend you stay away from waxing, epilating, and chemicals. They will mess up the effects of laser/electro and end up costing you more money. For now, I suggest you try a few products to find a shaving cream/gel and razor that cause you no irritation. Then, shave against the grain. This can cause pain and irritation as well as ingrown hairs. But, it will reduce the amount of shadow you see. I personally could never do this as my skin is far too sensitive. Good luck.

I already shave againts the grain and with the grain, i go over my face 2 times actually.  I use Noxema to shave and i start out with the grain. I was only planning on lasering my face, was going to wait to see if any body areas would need that eventually.

I find a coat of foundation is sufficient to cover up any evidence that I've needed to shave. Would that help you?

i tried rimmell foundation before, but it was not enough, still could see it, but i see the thread Devlyn provided , maybe some answers there

If you have some what sensitive skin don't use the chemicals. Been there,did that. If you have problems with it on your legs or underarms it's a whole lot worse on your face. (Had a burning rash on my face for over two weeks)  :P

Ok i found this hair removal cream that is designed just for facial hair, supposed to be a razor-less cream (you don't shave with it) i am going to do a test patch on my skin as instructed and if it doesn't burn me, and actually works, then I will be very happy!

You could also try hair bleach. If you bleach then shave your face, it shouldn't be too apparent. Though you'll have to do it often, I think.

The stuff I used was suppose to be for the face. They had carried it at Walgreen's but that stuff was so harsh I couldn't even keep it on my face for 1/2 the time that they suggested.

this magic shave razorless stuff was worthless, it did not even remove a single blade of hair and it only itched my face, so no help there

Try another one, maybe. Because even though a cream -can- be so strong it's bad for your skin, I've never heard of hair being immune to depilatory cream. My guess is that this cream is meant for female facial hair, which is quite fine. So it doesn't need a very high concentration since the hairs are weak and the skin, too. So maybe try a stronger one. But do a patch test, eh, because even though there's almost a 100 % chance that your hair will go away, the chances that your skin will be fine with it are much lower.

Any removal cream that is gonna be strong enough to eat away the terminal hair on your face will likely give you some sort of chemical burn in the process, not worth it. Its usually coarser hair than is on your legs, arms or other locations.

Try Dermablend makeup. It is designed for people who have facial burns, pigmentation etc. 

I'm following this thread because facial treatment hasn't been on my list of to-do's until now.  And I need a few suggestions also.  I'm going to see a MTF friendly electologist on Wednesday, but as those treatments continue my face will need to be kept clear of noticeable hair.  I haven't shaved my face in over 35 years, and just relearning how to get a close shave is going to be a chore.  This ugly beard is still about 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch long and is quite thick.  I find there's a lot of stubble on my neck when using the same kind of BIC disposable razor I use on my legs and underarms.  So, any razor or electric razor suggestions? 

Not looking forward to the nicks and cuts.    >:(

I have sensitive skin and I found the closest shave for me was with a mach 3 turbo and edge ultra sensitive gel. Occasional use of tend skin helps keep ingrowns from being an issue.

I think you're better off shaving than using the chemicals. There's no telling what the long term effects of using harsh chemicals on your face may be. Laser treatment can only remove the darker hairs. Most people I've known who went this route did laser first, then had to do electrolysis for the remaining lighter  hairs.

Always use a sharp razor and try to shave in or right after a shower/bath. A face steamer might be a good alternative. When your face cools and pores close it will be about as smooth as it can get and the shave lasts the longest.

Use an electric razor. Some people manage fine, but with any kind of "bladed" (Mach 3, Quattro for women, etc.) razor, that you use with gel, I've always gotten a ton of cuts, irritation and ingrowns, no matter what expensive or sensitive skin gel I tried. Many people manage more than fine, but if you're like me and don't, that might be a good idea. On top, it comes in cheaper in the end (those blades, you need to change them so often and they're so expensive...)

Now I use an electric razor with baby powder and razor lubricant and my face is very thankful. My own razor is cheap thus isn't the one closest shave ever, but it's decent. Getting a better one (there are kinds you can use wet, too) will most likely do very well.

"A", what brand electric razor do you use? I've never used an electric that shaved as closely as the cream+non-electric razor method. Electrics have always seemed to kind of skim the surface to me.

I can't use a razor on my face so have to use an electric shaver, I use a Phillips one with the lift & cut technology, this is the closest shave i've ever had from an electric razor, it's not perfect but it will have to do until I can start my electrolosys

I have been living full time for 8 years now and i have been in college for the past year. i have not had any hair removal done as of yet due to the expense. i use dermablend daily as a foundation and it seams to do the job pretty well. it gives good coverage and cost me about30 bucks for the foundation and 35 or so for setting powder. the foundation will last me almost three months. the setting powder is another story i use about a container a month . hope this helps.

My own razor is cheap. It's one of the cheapest from Braun. It says to change the blade every 18 months, but it's dull after 6 months.

The very good one, i'll have to ask my friend again. I forgot. But she paid it over 200 €, I think.
